Afternoon all, I currently own a 997.2 C4S, great car but fancy a GT3 probably the end of the year financially is viable. My budget would be £70k to £100k. Looking around this would seem to bring in to play 997.1, 997.2 or even possibly a 991.1 GT3.

Obviously aware these cars are very spec/mileage sensitive but where is the market at the moment for these GT3 models? Thanks for your help.

991 is probably the more volatile of the 3 models listed. I burn for a 997.2 GT3RS so always keep an eye on the Gt3 market by proxy. There seems to be a few cars on the market that have been there a while, from people who may have bought high and are hoping for a sucker PPI's as always a must and cost everything up as part of your negotiating package from the results of the PPI
Good luck with your search

IMHO the 991.1 is probably the current bargain in the 911 world (presuming your ok with PDK) The engine problems leading to a rock solid 10 year engine warranty is another bonus in my book, and a 991 is so much more usable than a 997 :thumb: No idea where prices are going mind...

On a related note, I notice 991.2 GT3 prices have started to shift. Some decent low mileage examples now for sub £150k.

991.1 GT3 prices have softened considerably in the last 6 months since I started looking. Some sub £100 cars (RHD) now. £110 buys you a sub 10K miles minter. Fallen £10-12K on the lower end.

The more knowledgeable & longer I have owned a 911 the more I started thinking the ultimate is a GTS 991.1 now I'm thinking past that to a 991.1 GT3 one day :?:

I am with Sday12 and think the 991 have dropped quite a lot. I hanker after a GT3 RS although would rather have a 997. The 991s are too big for country roads and to all intents and purposes (I have not driven one) seem to be a little to clinical and cosetted. Fine if that is what you want although personally I think it defeats the purpose for driving a road going track car.

I cannot imagine you would lose much more on a 991 and 996 may be over priced. 997 also seem good value although expensive compared to the £100k 991s if you hanker after a newer car.

My old car : https://www.pistonheads.com/classif...he-911-996-gt3-------------------1999/9768831

at £57K (less whatever you can haggle it down by, so say £54K), is where the Mk1 996 GT3 with average miles and decent spec should be, and at this price point it makes any 964/993 C2 Coupe look spectacularly bad value for money.

The Autostore LHD 100K mile Manthey K400 car is still overpriced IMO.

Mk2 996 GT3 prices need to be at £60K and Gen 1 997 GT3's at £65K. Maybe £5K more for the best of the best, low miles Clubsports.

Dealers who bought 996/997 GT3 stock in at inflated prices (or with cars on SOR) are being stubborn, and the cars aren't shifting as a result. The School Garage Mk 1 and the Park Lane Mk1's are skewing the market badly, as is the example at 911Box.

Interesting to see even sales of the hallowed 996 GT3 RS have stalled now too.

Ok so it was overpriced but this has been cut by 24k

Go for the GT3, I am a convert and the four wheel steer and epic engine are wonderful. When I budgeted to buy the 991.1 I factored in the DSC module for a faster reacting suspension (more compliant in normal and harder in track) and reverse camera along with an up rated exhaust (stage 2 Brooke race exhaust....it sounds like a cup car but is still valved if you have sensitive neighbours).

The one at 911 Box is lovely,(at least external conditio0n wise) I went to have a look at it a couple of months ago

I said to them at the time that they were asking strong money for it, but they didn't seem to think is was expensive or overpriced at all

I think you were being extraordinarily polite using the term 'strong" in relation to their pricing !!!

At this moment in time only the creme de la creme of Mk 1's ie Clubsport, original panel/paint, strong colour, low miles cars (with or without some well regarded modifications) are at that price point, Iris doesn't tick the strong colour box, neither does the Park Lane car, and the School Garage car has a Tequipment cage and no Nomex seats, so fairly safe to assume it's not a Clubsport.
