I have always liked the Gulf livery and the Porsches of old. I currently have a white 991.1 GT3, which looks good (I was unsure of white until I saw it and for some reason it looks good). However, I am tempted to wrap or even respray in Gulf livery with a subtle orange side and centre stripe. Anyone seen another or thoughts?

Not a GT3, but this RS was up for sale. Think it is a vinyl wrap.

Personally, nice on a one-off basis, but may be hard to live with in the longer term.

I considered something similar and mocked these up, but decided against it in the end. I love the colour scheme, and the history, but I decided it's better suited to older models.

If you need info on the Gulf Livery colours, I did some research and found out the original colour scheme was from Llewellyn Ryland and was:

3707 Zenith Blue;
3957 Tangerine;
3748 Navy Blue (separating line).

Thanks and this is really helpful. Whilst only a GT3 and not an RS I think it can carry it off. There are a couple of other white GT3s around and my favourite colours are blue and orange and the Gulf livery looks good. Just a question of cost and design....

The image above, just stripe and side bars without the numbers, would be superb on any 911.

On a related note, Gulf is one of the custom liveries for the new 935.

Gulf livery is stunning, and a winged GT3 can definitely carry it off, but on a white car I would go for Martini livery!

Much easier/cheaper to apply than a full wrap too!

I think a white 911 looks ok with a few stripes. Mates GT2 had Martini, so I had to go with something else Grin

When I researched doing mine, lots of Rothmans are blue orientated, but I didn't want to turn my car half blue, so went with 956 race car .

If you need a decent firm to work on a Gulf livery for you, Mark at DownTown Designs in Harlow charges £35 (refundable against purchase) to mock up design for your car, and will email you computer rendered photo.

Thanks and this is very helpful. Whilst the Martini looks good and is cost effective compared to the Gulf, I still prefer the blue and orange..... may well get a mock up. Thanks for all the advice
