Had a quick (and all too brief) look at the blog last night. It is fantastic and highly informative...thanks so much and please don't get rid of it - not least because some of those mods are on my wishlist too.

Separately, what vintage of Speedy is that?? I feel the need for one of those coming on too sometime soon.

Thanks 😊👍

Speedmaster is a 3590.50 ‘Moonwatch’ from the end of the run in 1996 (1988 - 1996) with the serial on the back of the lug at 7 ’o clock. Almost the end of the tritium dial Speedys. Got a great deal on it as the paperwork dated the sale and guarantee card was dated 1997 and the retailer selling it had made the mistake of thinking it was a 3570.50. Friend of mine knew I was looking for one from ‘96 spotted it and told me to buy it before someone else realised.

Markers have turned a lovely colour over the years.

Car and me now in the States. Writing the posts will run a few days behind as the days will be very long for a while (this will also be my excuse for illiteracy and typos). Loving it so far Yahoo

What a tremendous adventure, the photos on your blog are outstanding.

I am very, very envious. Many years ago, I had the chance to drive solo from NYC to LA and then up to San Francisco. It revealed a very different side to the US that many people never get to see, the solitude of driving through parts of such a vast country was both eerie and relaxing at the same time.

You've given me food for thought as the shipping costs were not as horrendous as I thought they would be

Have you taken a drone with you? If not how did you get that aerial shot?

Yes, I picked up a DJI Spark just before I left and then found them to be much cheaper in Target and Walmart when I got here! Wall

That shot in Colorado was the first proper flight other than on the driveway making sure it worked.

Absolutely brilliant, I think you have really captured what its like. I spent couple of week in Denver / Colorado and its one place I would happily move to. We took a pass like you, from Breckenridge and it was twitchy bum time in a crappy SUV rental nevermind a 993. Keep it up, really makes me want to go on a roadtrip. Thumb
