Gen 1 GT3 wheels on a Gen 2 car

Hi all

Bit of a random question but has anyone fitted gen 1 GT3 wheels on a Gen 2 car? I know a lot of people moan about the centre locks and I've seen people convert to a standard 5 bolt pattern so wondered if these wheels will fit and are they like for like in terms of size with the centre lock wheels?

This is the kind of thing I am thinking

Hi all

I probably didn't explain what I want to achieve properly in the original post. I am currently actively looking for a Gen 2 C2S or C4S. While looking for the right car I wanted to look into wheel fitment as I love the gen 1 GT3 wheels and wondered if they would fit either a C2S or C4S gen 2

After doing some googling I've found that wheels are the following sizes

Gen 1 GT3 - Front 8.5Jx19 Rear 12Jx19
Gen C2S & C4S - Front 8Jx19 Rear 11Jx19

It seems like the fronts will fit fine but will the rears as they are an inch wider so will these fit? I am not a wheel expert so looking for some advice if possible.

Thanks again

Trev

So I have assumed that I will buy a 997.2 C4S for the argument of calculating fitment. If so I'd look to get a set of 997.1 GT3 RS wheels and have looked at the sizes and offsets

997.1 GT3 RS wheels
Front - 8.5J x19 ET53
Rear - 12Jx19 ET51

997.2 C4S wheels
Front - 8Jx19 ET57
Rear - 11Jx19 ET51

Assuming I were to replace the standard wheels with GT3 RS wheels then I calculate that taking into account the offsets the front wheels will sit 2mm further out of the wheel arches and the rears around 13mm. Does that sound about right? If so then I guess the RS wheels will fit fine

Thanks

Trev

I'm no genius when it comes to offsets but looking at what you've provided I read it as the following.
Fronts will be 4mm further out from where they are now and the rears will sit as they are on the face, but will be 25mm on the inside wider as the rear offsets are the same, and the extra inch is applied to the inner face.
But I may have this completely wrong, apologies in advance.
If I have it correct, the fronts won't be an issue as the consensus for wheel spacers is 7mm front and 15mm rear. It's the rears that you may need to someone with a set to try to ensure it clears suspension, etc.
Good luck

Thanks for the info, really useful. I've no experience in fitting non standard sized and offset wheels so have no idea if the wheels will causing clearance issues etc. If anyone has any more info or knows of a good wheel specialist to speak to that would really useful

Brilliant, that is a really useful website. Here are the results

They look like they will fit fine at the front but the rears will come 12mm closer to the suspension. Do we think that will cause any issues?

Thanks

Trev, you could add 15mm spacers and that should see you right in theory as in my previous post I mentioned the standard spacer sizing that most people go for.
Again, I'm no expert, just using the info I've read about the topic. Perhaps there is a GT3RS 997.1 for sale near you that you can go and take some measurements from, or even better, ask them for a cheeky favour with a test fit.
Edit: just looked at some pics of 997.1 GT3RS and the fitment seems quite flush, so perhaps spacers may be out of the question.

Check out these babys and they are for sale

Front - 8.5J x19 ET53
Rear - 12Jx19 ET51

More pictures to follow in the classifieds at some point tomorrow

The current images do not do them justice, I promise they are as good as new

Rears are loaded with Pilot Cup Sport 2 XL N0 fitment Dot 4917 and are unused, front wheel sare unloaded

It should be noted they are WSP - - - BUT did you knwo thw WSP alloys are manufactured on the same production line as the Porsche wheels = fact!!

They are a total stuning wheel with this paint job
