Guys, I have just viewed and test drove a 55 plate 911 997 3.8 2S with 32000 miles on the clock, Full Porsche History, just had a new clutch.
I have 2 issues:
One thing I noticed was the oil pressure was at 5 on start up (cold) and gradually fell to 2.5 as it warmed up which I would expect. However after 20 mins on tick over the oil pressure gauge read 5 again and didn't move. I turned off the car and restarted it and it was back to 2.5 and increasing as I increased the revs as expected. I could not get it to sit at 5 again, Is this an issue to be wary off or a sticky/ faulty sender etc?
Secondly I noticed that after the clutch was released there seemed to be a small amount of travel left on the pedal but no longer any strain on it I.e. just seemed to be the pedal continuing to release after the clutch was fully engaged and the load was fully off if this makes sense? Another way of describing it would be: you can press the clutch pedal in around 1 inch before the clutch starts to work or you feel any resistance like a dead zone?
Any advice etc would be much appreciated as apart from these issues the vehicle is very clean and keenly priced.
Thanks in advance
Max
