Hi all,

I've got the opportunity to buy some period, gold BBS rims for my 1990 964 C4 (as specified on its original Bill of Sale!).

But could one of you wheel gurus out there confirm whether this fitment will, er, fit:

7.5x16 ET 54.5 and 9x16 ET 49

Advice appreciated.

Should fit without issue. Front offset is pretty much what a 964RS runs albeit in 17" and the Rear 9's run an offset of ET55 too. Your proposed ET49's would mean they sit 6mm further out. Thumb

Sweet.

Now I just need to work out how best to ship them from the US!

Well, they all arrived (eventually) via the US Postal Service!

Plan to get them refurbished asap - restored to their gold and polished glory. As they were back in 1990...

They look great and in good condition when you consider their age.
I think Frank AKA Black Betty used to use a guy called Vodoo to refurbish his BBS's. Apparently he was the go to guy Thumb

Nice rims and as mentioned Elie at Voodoo is my recommendation also. He refurbished my current Speedline Splits and has two other sets of mine which he's on with. Thumb

If it's the period look you're going with then fair play. Be mindful that Splits generally look a size smaller than single piece rims due to their smaller centre diameter design. 16's will look like 15's on a 964 unless the car is very low.

BBS are well catered for by wheel builders and rebuilding those centres into a 17" or even 18" wheel would be easily achievable.

Do a search for BBS on 964's and you'll get an idea of how they'll look.

As an example, here's a pic of 18" Gold Centred BBS' on a Black 964. Wink

Many thanks for the advice. Will give Elie a call.

But yes, it's the period look I'm going for.

The car was fitted with these wheels by the supplying dealer in 1990 (see original AFN Bill of Sale below).

Previous owners recall them, but they went missing somewhere along the line. Hence my search. This particular set was sold by a Swiss Rennlister to a Texan Rennlister who offered them to me (an occasional Rennlister!).

Originality it is then. Will look forward to seeing the refurbished rims and how they look on the car. Thumb

Dropped the wheels off this morning for refurbishment. Fingers crossed.

Managed to find an experienced specialist closer to home (up north in Exeter!), recommended by my indie, SCS Porsche.

Will post pics as soon as they're done and back on the car...
