The time has come for me to sell my turbo. I was going to keep it forever but lots of things have happened in and around my life recently and I've come to the realisation that 'life is too short'. So I'm selling in order to sample other cars, be it another turbo, lambo, fezza, aston etc etc. – who knows!?

Here she is this morning as I look out of the living room window:

EDIT - As of 14th March the car now looks like this (more pics later on)

Unfortunately I'm not well off enough to be able to have every car I want at the same time so something had to give and it is 'The Black Pearl'.

Basic Spec:
2001 turbo
81,500 miles
PCCB
K16 hybrid turbos
997.2 GT2RS intercoolers
IPD plenum
1100cc injectors
ES tune (ES650 with tweaks) – Mafless
Walbro 450 fuel pump
Fully forged engine rebuild at 79k miles
Gearbox rebuild
Kline decat exhaust, comes with the 100cel cats for MOT time too
Ported OEM headers
All the usual turbo refinements – electric ruffled seats, auto wipers, auto mirrors etc etc

£39,995

Interested? Please read on:

It's a reasonably well known car on here, what many may not know is that it has recently had a complete engine rebuild by Porsche Torque. It has been rebuilt with Carrillo rods and Racewear head studs along with Cometic head gaskets.

The engine was fully stripped down to the crank and everything which needed replacing was changed. The only significant bits which are still in the car are the pistons and liners as these were as new. I have invoices just for the replacement engine components (not including rods/studs) for over £10k not including labour. The list of bits replaced is over 3-4 pages and is very extensive.

The tiptronic gearbox has also been uprated with Alto Kevlar clutch packs and steels, improved solenoids, refurbished valve body and torque converter, new gaskets and filter, seals etc etc (also several £k worth of work). This was done to the specification of the usual uprated tip packages capable of big HP.

The car itself is a 2001 turbo – weight saving, non glovebox model ;-) . I'm the 4th owner and have owned it since 2013/14. Full service history at Porsche and specialists, the first stamp being Porsche Monaco. It has PCCB, an ipad mini in the dash, 19 inch genuine 997 turbo wheels with good tyres. Paint is in extremely good condition as is the interior. No rust whatsoever.
It has had all the usual consumables changed at least once in my ownership – rads, condensers, coffin arms, tuning forks, water pump, alternator etc etc.
It drives faultlessly, no rattles, clunks or creaks. She boosts to 1.3 bar at present with room for more on these blowers, or you could go bigger for more HP safely now.

So there you have it. I'll put an ad in the 'for sale' section and will also update this thread with some photos as I go along but this is the gist of it.

Any inspection welcome and I might even take offers although I'm really not in any rush to sell as am thinking of buying the next car in spring. As with any used car I'm sure there will be things that can be picked at. If anything is found I'll do my best to rectify it.

Cheers

EDIT - forgot to say, the rebuild was completed earlier this year and has had its run in done and oil changed following the run in 1k miles at Porsche Torque. The engine rebuild essentially renders its previous FSH irrelevant I suppose.

EDIT 2 - some pics -

That'll do for now, I've got hundreds which the new owner can have.

EDIT - Price reduced as car is not getting used. Completed approx 1500-2000 miles touring Scotland in first week of May and has not moved since. Chance for someone else to take ownership.

GLWS

I'm sure you will have a good deal of interest.

Gorgeous car and a brilliant purchase - a lot of the expense already spent for the new owner!

Shurely shome mishtake and that should be a '5' not a '4'.....? :chin:

That's an outstanding car at an outstanding price

Good luck with the sale m8

If only I had the cash ...

Still a stunning looking car RP. A real wolf in sheep's clothing - not that a standard 996T can be called a sheep.

GLWTS. :thumb:

Thanks for posting.

You have probably already been asked. What warranty is there with the gearbox and engine rebuilds

Thanks

:?: This ain't no annual ragpicker wobble... I think he's going to do it this time.

Good luck with the sale RP. Someone's going to bag a bargain here!

Thanks again for the kind comments.

Tom, yes you're right this isn't the usual 'wobble', this is it.

Life is too short and we aren't guaranteed a tomorrow so its time for me to try something else. The 'what' part of it hasn't been decided yet... So many cars to choose from!

Lovely car and a great spec with the rebuild, that flipping cat would get it though !
