OK, so I've held on for as long as possible. My 997 has the passenger airbag deactivation switch fitted, so I've comfortably been able to drop off two kids on the way to work over the last two years. 911 bliss.

Now, the younger one is joining the gang from September... three kids is just about OK. But they have fricking guitars and sports stuff and 135 litre boot is just not going to cut it anymore, plus I don't want to wreck the interior. I have seriously thought about the roof rack and box, but maybe that's ridiculous.

I've gone from a Boxster to three 911s - 996 C4, 997 C and now a 997 CS. So am a bit institutionalised. At this point in time I can't spend anymore, so let's say my budget is going to be £25k and I cant get a third car, as much as I would like to, as there just isn't enough space at home.

Any thoughts? What would you get? Finally throw in the towel, give up and get a massive tank? I am struggling....

Cheap family motor with boot space and keep the 911 for yourself. Hardly eve have the kids in mine, nor the wife...!!

Tell em to get the bus.

Buy something suitable for the job. Big estate if you can't face a Mum bus.

If you can live with this then you have a solution. My daughters thought it was cool - in a cr@p dad sort of way but I only used it to get a heap of stuff over on the ferry. Most definitely function over form though..........

Roof rails, bike carrier and box maybe. Soon they'll want to take themselves to school...

Move out
Buy another house with bigger drive
Sell the kids or pick the one that annoys you the most and sell him/her or let them take it in terms to walk or two trips😂

If you sell the 911 you will buy another within 8 months they are addictive!

Good luck mate :thumb:

A practical hatchback?

I don't see the big issue here. You pick your least favourite kid and drop them off at the adoption office.

(I don't have any children :D )

Get a box trailer :D

And a tow bar :floor:

I seriously considered a roof rack! Not sure I could live with it every day though - it's only cool if you live up in the mountains and have skis permanently mounted on them.

A porsche with a tow bar - imagine that!

A Targa though, I totally forgot about them! Great suggestion! How much space to you get behind those back seats - is it worth it? anyone got one on here - is it significantly more practical? As they are later cars than mine, they are at least £4k more right now... It feels like a slightly mad thing to do.

Panamera might be a compromise if I can find a decent one or I was thinking of going to the other extreme and getting big Discovery (late last model) or even a Jeep where i could take the whole roof off in the summer... I'm still lost. It's unbelievably hard to replace a 911... ok on to check out Targa's...

OK a/ if you have had 4 Porsches how on earth did you find time inbetwwen hoons to make 3 kids . b/ do the man maths 997.1 going up in value justifies getting a mum bus for 1k for the school runs. saw a 05 merc C class for 1k the other day run it until it dies knowing you have more than covered its cost in the appreciating 997.1 .c/ send the most annoying kid to boarding school d/ deny all parental responsibility and let the mrs sort it out. d/ tell them all afterschool activities are for nerds and unless they want to grow up wearing socks with sandals they must cease them with immediate effect.

I am sure one of those options will work for you and allow you to keep the 911.   :thumb:

just for motivation purposes please take a long hard look at whats in store for your future if you fail to heed my advise

A New (to you) estate car for the daily hack

Store the Porsche nearby and use that when it suits.

Contraception :dont know:

OK some out of the box thinking . that should fit nicely in the front compartment .problem sorted :thumb: :thumb:
