I was a member in the NW region for 3-4 years and used to contribute to the magazine. But it never really appealed to me. As someone said seemed to be very old fashioned. Only thing I enjoyed was the event at Silverstone '911x911s on the track which turned into 1200x911s on track. That was 2012 I think. I stayed at their designated hotel and in the evening they had a black tie gala dinner with tuxedos etc.

Also went to 'Porsches on the Prom' in Llandudno a couple of times. Nice to see al the cars, but it was old geezer and missus in deck chairs next to their motor with a flask of tea

Not my bag baby.. as they probably said in the 60s when they were young.

After my experience and quite a few others in our region, region 3, I would be very cautious!
If your into cliques and pandering to peoples ego's then go for it.

Well, I tried a couple of times with PCGB meets and it was not a hugely welcoming or friendly experience. Given most dealers seem happy to give a club discount I have binned my PCGB membership now.

That's the joys of clubs for you!
If you'd heard the stories around what's been happening in our region you just wouldn't believe it lying, bullying, abusive phone calls and the disgusting behaviour from people who should know better.
There has been a mass desertion of long standing members due to this and some members have even moved to other regions over all the nonsense that's been happening.
I put a post on PCGB forum about what had happened to me and this was promptly removed by 'management' as it didn't fit in with the harmonious image they want to create around the running of an autocracy.

I've been a PCGB member for nearly 17 years and all I can say is I've never seen many none friendly members.

Yes there are a mixed age range but it's a very friendly bunch.

It's the same as 911UK, things change. This used to be great for meet up and drive with like minded 911 drivers. Now it's getting full of Boxster drivers who think they could beat the Nürburgring lap record everytime they pop out for a pint of milk (skimmed of course)
