New wheels and offsets

I've found a nice set of 991 wheels for sale but have a slight reservation about the offset on the front wheels. My original C2 wheels are 8J with a 57mm offset verses the new wheels at 8.5J with a 54mm offset. The net effect is that the new wheels will protrude by 9mm towards the arch making them (by my rough measurements) almost flush with the face of the arch.

I've googled the topic to death and have found lots of discussions about 5 to 7mm shims on standard offset 8J front wheels but maybe 9mm is just too much and may rub on the arches??? Can anyone comment or advise? (My C2 is standard ride height btw)

The new 11J rears will sit 23mm closer to the hub and the same distance from the arch so I'm planning to shim them by 10mm to 'center' them as per the original 10J rears
