The temperature gauge light on my 1998 Boxster flashes when the car is started and continues to flash when the engine reaches running temperature
. If I stop the engine and restart the car, the light goes out. Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this?

Bit of a needle in a haystick without looking at the car im afraid ..

Ill have a wild stab in the dark though

2 things .. coolant lvl sensor in the bottle or a poor earth connection to the lvl sensor which is better with heat.

Engine on / off means it will check the system again where as afaik it will only check it once on startup otherwise.

Thanks for the advice, I will have a quick look at the sensor myself and if it persists, ask my mechanic (@ Welsh Porsche) to run a diagnostic on the sensor when the car is in for a service.
