Hello guys,

Just wondering has anyone done this? Or fitted any aftermarket wheel with a boss?

A big no no?

Other option is to retrim the current wheel.

thanks

Nothing is a big No no mate , do what takes your fancy , if you dont want to loose the airbag but want a change of wheel have a look at 997.2 and 991.1 wheels they lift the 997.1 interior and you still get to keep an airbag . I fitted a carbon wheel 997.2 PDK wheel to my 997.1 and a 991 sports wheel in Alcantara to my 997.2 :thumb:

Hey Phil, both of those look great.

Got some quotes from Jack at royal to do the wheel, knob and handbrake but There is a little part of me that is veering towards a deep dish suede wheel.

Something like this..

Would you happen to know the thickness of the Carbon wheel?

I cant remember the thickness but it was thicker than both the gen1 sport and regular wheels. and they have more of a flat bottom than the gen1 wheels :thumb:

May I ask, who did your retrim for the 997.1?

the carbon steering wheel is OE , I brought it pre owned , not sure if Jack does carbon retrimming but I know Linas at DesignLS does :thumb:

Knobs are often overlooked but a nice Knob is important

Hi RXP,

For me personally, the original stock wheel felt a little too thin and weedy. So I had Jack recover mine and make it very slightly thicker, whilst maintaining a fairly stock look. I am still really pleased with the outcome of the look and feel! I also had the handbrake cover and gear knob done at the same time, to keep it all looking consistent. Jack did a great job.

I just looked looked at the cup wheel from JZM. Looks spot on.

any pics?

re the steering feel that would be a big plus for me.

So in your opinion is there a vast improvement? or barely noticeable?

Does the MOMO boss remove some slack from the OEM set up?
