Last week, i hit a curb at about 10mph as i was turning right at night. checked immediately afterwards, the tire was fine, but had a chip in the alloy, no other visible damage

last night, as i was driving on a 20mph road with speed bumps, my front suspension started making a weird squeeky noise, but mostly at lower speeds. also squeeky when i turn the steering wheel.

after i parked her, engine off and car locked, i noticed a noise from the front left, which sounds like a pump?

Can anyone guess what it is?

I have a bad feeling that my kerb incident from the previous week cause more damage than is visible

thanks for your help!

Well .. thats a new one on me im afraid .

Squeeky suspension is probably a ball joint .. coffin arm i expect .

The other noise though .. hmm .. well the position is where the fuel tank carbon canister is and a valve on the fuel filler pipe .

The only check i can think of is remove the fuel filler cap when its making this noise to see if it stops .

Really its a garage check over i feel , with the arch liner off then you can get at the bits there so should easily be able to feel which one is pulseing .

I had that steering squeak in my .2.

The steering rack will need to come out and repaired by steering specialist. Porsche would recommend replacing the whole rack (of course) for almost NZD5000.

There is no easy way to sort this out I'm afraid.

Hmmm

Only make the noise when hot you say?

I would say possibly rack too.

However I would change out the inner track rod ends (TRE) before going to that expense. I think you can still get TRW OE parts at a very good price.

These are affected by heat when worn and the grease has gone. On my 996 they knocked and went stiff.

A new /recon rack would also come with new inner TREs.

Yes I think so, I need to check tomorrow if it squeaks before I start it, but definitely no noises today when I took off

I had a few parts changed, including the track arms in August last year when I got the eibach springs fitted:

I recon this is a result of hitting the curb?? Or am I looking a potential premature part failure?

Those are rear track control arms you had replaced.

What i'm talking about is the front inner track rod ends.

Got it, thanks a lot wasz

I wonder what labour will be and assuming the suspension has to get toutif it's worth considering more maintenance or replacement.

Currently on 73k miles on stock suspension, fitted eibach and the other stuff 4k ago.

Cheers

Trust me .. that would be very easy for a garage to find when on a 4 poster ramp , as such i would advise getting a garage to look at it and diagnose .

For me .. its top mount / coil spring .
