So I'm down to a choice of two on the shortlist. The search for a manual 3.4 cable throttle with aero and M030 and LSD and black leather was fruitless - ended up at a 3.6 with no aero
Candidate 1:
2003 car
90k
Atlas grey
Black leather
Pros - hardbacks, Dansk exhaust, new disks and pads and condensers and brake lines. Turbo style wheels (my fave 996 OEM wheel) BOSE,
Condition of this car is outstanding
Cons - 8 owners, at the very top of the budget,
Candidate 2:
2002 car
90K
Black on Black
Pros: 1 owner, full stamped Porsche history and one specialist who are the seller too. 4 grand cheaper than the Atlas car
Cons: No hardback seats, standard exhaust, nowhere near as clean, has the 5 spoke Carrera alloys (yack), unsure of any evidence of remedial work such as clutch, condensers etc etc, needs a windscreen to due chip/crack (which I may be able to get under Insurance later)
So I'm at a crossroads - 4 grand is a lot of money and pays for hardbacks and a Gundo hack on the exhaust and puts more into the borkage fund. One owner and the history is a draw, however the Atlas Grey is so so very clean and tidy and wont need a penny spending (hopefully) for a while
What say you Porsche gurus?
