Never seems to be the craic on this forum anymore.
It used to be a bit of a laugh
With the value held in these cars now, has the fun all gone ?
Usually loads on the 96 and 97 fora, it’s all gone a bit musty on here
Like an old house that hasn’t been lived in.

I'm assuming that like Norwegian Blue parrots they aren't dead, they're just resting and will wake from hibernation on April 1st.
I believe a few are flying south together in May. _________________ 2007 Guards Red 997 Turbo Tiptronic

I've just upped the value on mine by £10k based on zingari advice. When they asked me to confirm the mileage on it........"its not changed" _________________ "Imagination is more important than knowledge" Einstein

A good dozen regular contributors here are now using a What’s App group following a couple of successful 993 trips abroad. As I’m sure you all know, very easy to share pictures etc. I suspect that’s a good part of the reason traffic here has slowed.
Big 993 trip scheduled for April. As Donald once said;”It’s gonna be great”

“Craic” .. it’s an oirish thing Stuts, you need to do a trip over here to find it!
To be fair though this forum has gone very dead, maybe we’ve run out of things to say , seeing as our cars are so massively solid? _________________ '96 Iris C2 vario manual coupe, Koni FZD's/M033's RSR's and HID's.

I'd say this is still the go to place when you have a tech 993 question, but inevitably most of the old girls are tucked up for winter! Having driven mine in a snow storm last month, I can thoroughly recommend...never trying that!
We'll come out of hibernation over the next few weeks. _________________ 993 C4, Coupe '94 manual

Certainly quieter than when I joined a couple of years ago.
I guess most of the tech questions have been answered and not many are interested in mods or customising.
I blame the illuminati...

I heard a rumour (allegedly started by the Illuminati) that talking about 993s would devalue them, hence the silence in hear
Personally I put it down to hibernation period and some key players leaving the forum (eg. clarkycat, GT4, etc.) _________________ 2000 Manual 996 C4 Arctic Silver Convertible

Two words....
George Eaton
I think there was more to it than that ie the fact that certain individuals on here made a point of constantly arguing with him, which when you have such a dry sense of humor as GT4 rather takes the fun out of it At the end of the day he gave much more to the forum than he was getting from it and you start to question “why bother”
Plus he bought a 997, which as we all know are not as much fun _________________ "Imagination is more important than knowledge" Einstein

I had put the on the air cooled sections down to . Personally I think its a few reasons .
1/ 993s normally hibernate overwinter and owners are busy underneath them.
2/ As they have gone up in value so much many are now in the hands of collectors and are not driven as much daily as there is a paranoia about values v enjoying them.
3/ Due to the cost of them now its often an older owner who owns, who may not be so interested in forum banter.
4/ The 996 and 997 became the most popular of the 911 family and type of owner is more likely to be more internet active and active on forums .
5/ some have an aircooled tucked away and have a watercooled for using so are now more active on the 96&97 sections
6/ A few of the prolific posters are just taking a break to let Alex and me catch up
Its the same with the 991 section it was very very slow until recently as the early 991s are now starting to pass into the hands of enthusiasts who are more likely to join a forum, many original 991 owners just were not the type to be active on forums far too busy smelling poo under their noses and showing off at the golf club.
If you look at the other main 911 forums they appear even less active across the whole range of 911s than 911uk, I have asked the odd question on them and either never got a reply or waited days or weeks for a reply and then its often just a single reply. This is by far the most active Porsche dedicated forum whether its car related info or banter _________________ 911 Owners,Some Invest In The Future,
