Not used it much over winter but when starting it, it will fire but instantly stall unless I keep it going with throttle, after about 15 secs its perfect. Feels like its starting on a couple of cylinders then the rest join in. Is this common? only just started doing it, but then again I normally use it more often.
My random thoughts are plug fouling? coil packs are good, or fuel pressure?.
 
have you kept the tank full over winter could be poor petrol
it does go off after a while.
 
If it was OK before, maybe just needs using and a fresh tank of VPower?
 
I had a similar problem with warm starts. Turned out to be the solenoid...

*edit: just the clutch position sensor bit was what I think may be applicable - the 'sploding engine is unrelated to your issue!
