To ensure members adhere to the site's code of conduct on selling of car parts, the following provides guidelines on parts being advertised.

Parts are classified "New", which can include or exclude the original wrapping as long as they are unused, ie. if it's never been fitted or used then it's still new.

Car Parts can only be described "As New" with specific reference to their used age and and duration of usage detailed in the advert, with a confirmation that the parts have no damage whatsoever. Typical "As New" would refer to an item that has very limited usage in both mileage or age. This might also included parts that show signs of age even though they haven't been fitted or used.

All car parts are assume to be "Used" unless otherwise stated.

Consumer law on private sales states that where goods are not as described, the buyer is legally entitled to a refund or replacement.

Any members misrepresenting goods i.e. selling New or As New parts that are found not to be correctly 'as described' or are faulty will be suspended.

The site reserves the right to remove any adverts, these guidelines are in addition to the site rules.

If there are any concerns regarding any adverts please contact Site Admin "911uk"

Wording your private advert

What you say about your item is all a potential buyer has to go on, along with the photographs you provide. Your ad could also appear in a search listing with other items exactly the same as your own - so you need to get as much positive information in as possible. But keep it brief and to the point. Don't forget the price.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Prepare the item properly and take several good pictures of it, highlighting key features. Potential buyers are much more likely to show interest if they can see what they could buy.

Be honest if the item is damaged in any way. If you're not explicit and honest you could waste time with fruitless enquiries and/or visits. If you have a good reason for selling the item, for example, include this in the advert.

Note, Sellers can't deny or reject any knowledge of or responsibility for the authenticity or legality of your items, i.e. sellers can't disclaim authenticity of their item.
