Not sure how many years I've been going (6 or 7) but this was the first time I've not turned up in a Porsche, although I did set off in one Sad

[/url]

Firstly a blow out.

Then 5 miles down the road once the spare was fitted I developed a bad misfire.

GAME OVER

Once I had got back home and picked up the daily it was good to catch up with everyone.

Here you go. Apologies for some of the poor photography, my old Sony camera is on its last lens (legs) and ready for the bin. Here's everything I took yesterday.

What a great day (apart from infrasilver's disaster - that 944 of his must have some serious form at Oulton in another life). I enjoyed last year and couldn't wait for this year to come round, but enjoyed this one even more. Was great to meet many members on here and also put some new faces to steadfast members (jonttt & KurlyKris) as well as many other members. We should really put more effort into having a 911uk area there. Big thanks to kas750 for arranging the meet point and escorting us down there, even if there was the odd hairy moment exiting dual carriageways. What did John, bringing up the rear in his Boxster say on arrival? "You're a couple of noisy b***ards you two!" Grin

Had a really nice chat with Centre Gravity Chris in his proper track slag - what a guy he is!! Loads of fun with FZP, as with the last meet, although bringing his own 'last night's pizza' didn't have get my insides rumbling. Great chat with RichardKS about 80s bike mags and journalism. The two younger members (brothers I think - sorry lads can't remember your usernames) and the epic 997 project before you've reached 30!! Loads of track action and gawping. Nice chat with Hamster too. That race car with the pneumatic lifts built into the underside for quick wheel changes. The late arrival of infrasilver in his other half's Skoda after his 944 ordeal - always a pleasure to see you mate and a nice chat.......and just too many other things to remember.

just a couple:

That geezer with the 996 with full switchable Top Gear exhaust system Surprised Nearly blew Frank's hat off - what a sound!!!!!!!!

and one last 'surreal' moment of bobbing down The Red Lion country boozer at the back of the track for a pint and lunch at 1pm - when we came to pay the bill, the Landlord says to me - "I know where you're from", "Where?" I say. He says - "Same place as me - Blackburn!". Is my accent really that strong and localised Dont know

Great to see you Alex and everyone else including the guy in the lovely 996 with the switchable top gear exhaust that proved the M96 can be repeatedly bounced off the rev limiter without firing a conrod across the car park. Grin

Jesus wept I nearly cacked my pants when he did that. When everyone said it's going to be loud, I thought, ok it be be noisy. I didn't expect it to generate a fight or flight reaction to that noise.
