Event: 09 Mar 2018

Hi all
To all those who attended the Cheshire/Manchester Meet on Saturday, thank you for your time. It was great to put some faces to names and share a coffee, then a beer, and a feed. It appears in not alone in saying it was enjoyed by all, and as Zingari suggested, worth trying to make it a monthly occurrence.
So to keep the ball rolling, it seems the natural next date for a meet is the RS Day at Oulton Park on the 9th March as there are a few guys heading down for it. For those who haven't been it's a great Porsche Only day with some lovely cars being used as intended, along with a car park full of Porsches finest.
Perhaps we can schedule to meet at a mutually beneficial time and location, grab a coffee and then convoy over to Oulton Park?
Let's discuss and come up with a plan

Cheers
FZP

I'm on it,although coming from oop North I may just meet you guys there. There's an on site restaurant at Oulton that serves breakfast and lunch and enough coffee to sink a ship.

Ime definitely up for that, like the idea of meet up & convoy over to Oulton, sounds fun.

Good call however note the onsite restaurant doesn't serve fig folls.

Luckily (or not for some) I can make Friday not the weekend. Grin

Im back in the UK early March and could make the Friday, I could also bring some Fig folls and probably even mrs Spongebob Thumb
Presumably this would just be a convoy to Oulton, park up etc, perv over cars etc, as the the trackday is already fully subscribed.

I think it might limit people if its on a Friday as most are still at work, weekend Sat or Sun for me, lets see how it pans out, nearer the time.

It's worth booking the day off is the RS trackday. I did last year (with my boss - me!) and will be again this year.

Hamster
Was aware that some people may not be able to make this being a Friday, but it only comes along once a year to have this many Porsches in the North West all at once.
April will see a return to a Sat meet day. Thumb

Would have been over Saturday, but didn't fancy the driver through the Peaks in snow on cold Cup 2 tyres. Might try to get to another meet though - great idea and well done for disorganising it.

I'm one of the lucky few who's bagged a place on the RS trackday next month so, as long as car is ready (some jobs to be done, so fingers crossed) I might see some of you there.

I'd like to take credit for it but all I did was make a couple of suggestions. In terms of logistics, i was going to suggest those who csn be bothered making their way to Costa Alderley Edge to get a quick cup of coffee at say, 9:15-9:30. Get take away's and leave for say 9:45 which should get us there for 10:30am. For those coming from other directions, we can meet at the cafe?
If we rendezvous just outside the cafe at Oulton Park at 11am, where we can do the introductions to each other, how does that sound?
What was interesting to note from the first meet is that I was under the impression that most people knew each other which was the exact opposite. I don't think anyone had met before.
For those who've not been before, I suggest you dress for arctic conditions as race tracks are either boiling hot (never happened in this country) or they're freezing cold. Rarely have I been where it has been just pleasant.
How does that sound for people?
