Hi all

I'm sure this has been done to death over time but please give me your opinions on the best tyres for a 997.2 Carrera on turbo IIs.

When I got my 993 I did the same post and it made my tyre choice really easy and also spot on!

For detail (if it matters) I'll be fitting TechArt springs and 15mm spacers.

Thanks all
TC

If it isn't under warranty, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S. If it is under warranty, afraid you need Michelin PS2's because they are N rater.

MPS4S' are awesome, just had them put on my rear and the difference is easily noticeable. Wife has MP4's (i.e. not S) on her BMW M240 and they are also great on there.

:agree:
Nothing else to discuss

btw, my rears were £260 each fitted balanced etc from my local F1, which beat the best internet price without asking which was £262 each UNFITTED!

:agree:

MPS4S' here too.

its a shame they don't do set for rears of a 996tt

PSS or PS4S and bin the warranty, nothing comes close

TC, per the image below, stick to the N rated choices depending on which 19s you are running

N rated tyres are always evolving, even if the name stays the same for each generation

Yep. Agree with F1 autocentre comment too. I just paid £350 for front pair fitted. (19's)

You really don't need N rated tyres. PS4S are miles ahead of PS2's.

It seems that it isn't in Michelins interests to bother getting PS4S etc N rated because in reality it seems to me (and I may be wrong) that all it means is that they are officially rated for 180mph. When did you last do 180?

The N rated PS2 is not the same as the mass market PS2

The Michelin PS2 have been made over time in N1, N2, N3 and N4 specs according to specific Porsche models, that has moved the PS2 in a forward direction from then was the PS3 and now the PS4

The PS3 was hardly a follow on from the PS2 and was a completely different area of the Michelin range. The PS4 was more like a PS3 successor until the PS4S came along as a PSS update.

I've had PS2 and PSS and my next set will be PS4S.

Thank you sir......ref the rear tyre, currently I have 295s but I've heard some people running 305s, I see the wheel size is slightly different. I'm running the 19 Turbo II wheel. Is 295 the correct tyre?
