Not the case.
Photo angle

Straight on shot showing the existing issue.

It’s a moderate divert of the exhaust gas be enough to reduce db’s by up to 2.

So what are the brown marks then? Don't get me wrong I really like the idea, but there is a nasty mark on the pu just above the exhaust pipes and at either side to a less extent. I've seen these before with aftermarket bolt ons / exhaust and they were burn marks?

They were already the at the start of the event but not related to this flap mod,

Some
More pics of the day.

I was lucky my brake master cylinder failed coming into surteees and no where else....

Got picked up by the AA way 10 after having to haggle with ADAC to get my car towed all the way home, got in just before 12.

Great evening and great to meet more forum folk!

I have lots of dashcam footage which I'm trying to upload to YooChoob so I'll post some links when it's done...

You know you've been on track when you chuck in £50 of fuel when you leave and the range shows 77 miles! Floor

Hi all
Thanks for a great evening even though I completed only approx 5 laps before oil started to leak heavily from the front end of the engine Rolling Eyes I got off track as quickly as possible!

Hoping I caught it in time and everything is ok, still had oil pressure and it dropped a moderate puddle whilst cooling down so the level and dipstick still showed above minimum 2hours later.

Marshall towed me past all the ford lot who duly took the piss Mr. Green

Looking forward to another track session soon and hopefully see some of you at porsche fest

Here's a YooChoob link to a clip from my dashcam so you can see how not to do it!!

I'll try to load some more vids on there so you can try to spot yourselves (probably overtaking me...)

Hi all,

Thanks for organising, I came across it by accident on the MSV website. Unfortunatley they are burn marks and not on there before the night. So DB lowered but with paint damage for the efforts, so a bit of fixing to be done. My GT3 has never struggled to get through testing in 10 years and it came in at 103.5!!.

So rather than take a bath on the booking I managed to get the flaps from a workshop across the road from Brands as a temporary fix and it did drop by 2db.

In hindsight I should have thought about the heat being generated and where it was going. With a bit of heat wrap and shielding it could be a cheap option, but I'm looking into a bolt on exhaust extension as a more permenant solution to the DB problem.

Really enjoyed the night and look forward to the next one, just with a big old exhaust extension hanging off the back

Neal

Great to see so many people getting out on track. Its so much safer than driving quickly on the road.

Ive had enough of brands now, I live just down the road and avoid it due to their approach to noise.

On a bone stock 996 GT3 i get kicked off yet I am fine at the notoriously low level Bedford.

I see N RAP was there, Jackals old car. I've followed it for 8 billion miles around Europe (although it was mostly behind me.) 😄

Who is the very proud owner? You've got a special one there.

evening events dont always benefit from higher noise limits, quite the opposite

but will take a bit more planning, eg Bedford, Rockingham or Silverstone are the other options

except Rockingham is a 98db static, Bedford is a 101db static
with this the Brands dodgy 102db doesn't look too bad !

so might need some more planning for 2019

It was a great way to spend an evening at Brands even though I didn't make it on track, much thanks to A2B for taking the place off me at a reduced price, I made a few quid back and I have put a lump sum to Charity as I would have just lost the total amount if A2B didn't buy it from me.

Some of my phone pics of the evening.

The 944 has been diagnosed with coolant in cylinder 3 so assume the head gasket has gone and is pressurising the system so much that the coolant hoses are rock hard, its back in the garage as we speak getting stripped down to confirm the diagnosis.

Fugly as... (I have them on my 996 GT3 - they work but Yuk )

This is a far neater solution & will fit every GT3/RS from 997.1 to 991.2

Rockingham does not rock! 98db is for Tesla Very Happy
seriously, mine is stock and does 101.9 at 5.7k rpm static!

even wholeday should be fine no? would it be possible to accept selected cars if not enough participant?
