My independent was telling me the turbo was corroded hence the leak, but when I pressed him exactly where the leak was coming from he was just saying "the turbo".
I've taken a look and its really hard to see exactly where its coming from. It's running down the side of the turbo and dripping off the little square oil housing directly beneath.
I was hoping they could be refurnished.
Question is, Is removing the turbo to get it re-furbed something i can do myself? I'm a little worried about this oil feed pipe and the likely situation of corroded nuts & bolts.
Thanks for your help so far guys, its good to get some experienced advise of people who aren't trying to sell you something...
ragpicker said:Its very hard to tell where that is leaking from. Common leaks from above the turbo are from the union between the afferent oil line which goes to the top of the turbo. Other leaks can come from the middle of the blower. Then they can leak from between the turbo and the oil sump, finally from the efferent oil line from the sump.
It looks like its leaking quite a bit. If its from where the oil line is above the turbo then it may be a relatively simple fix and have absolutely nothing to do with refurbing the blower at all.
Was this a Porsche specialist?
You need to get a better look above the blower :thumb:
