2003 Porsche 996 Turbo

PostPosted: Tue May 29, 2018 7:21 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Completed the PCGB day at Anglesey on the 19th, as ever it was worth the 6 hour drive each way. Stunning weather and location, epic roads to and from, along with the nicest bunch of enthusiasts you could wish to meet.

Great to see a 4.0 litre RS out and getting a good thrashing too. The icing on the cake was the fact that the club hired a professional photographer for the day, allowing club members open source access to all of the pics. Superb.

Should be at Silverstone on the 18th June if anyone else is going, drop by and say hi, arctic 996 turbo. bye

Overcast is fine, a bit of rain is ok but I really want some dry running too, (I know you cant predict it Y2K) but I went to Blyton last week with PCGB and we had rain all morning, 3 dryish laps in the afternoon before the rain came back down and then an early finish due to some unfortunate soul losing oil along the racing line and hard to clean up with all the rain.

I've pencilled it in, I'll decide in a couple of days but fancy doing Bedford again and meeting again.

Funny enough last time I was at Blyton, an EVO decided to dump its oil and ruined the day for everyone. I think we lost two hours of track time.

Haha.

Excellent day mate. Damp/mist to start with, then rain then dry. Fairly quiet track; spun twice, ‘noise board’ three times. I didn’t do too many miles cos my back was bothering me but I had a great day.

Good catching up with Rhino-man also.

I concur, really good day, despite the wet air in the morning the track was surprisingly dry and grippy. Once the mist dropped in the afternoon it was properly dry and good fun, I remembered why I like going to Bedford so much, a really good track with lots of different elements.
I managed just over 200 miles on track and more than 2 tanks of fuel Surprised

A good crowd of friends Y2K brought along too, nice friendly bunch.
