I wonder if anyone is still running OEM or even one of the even rarer Blaupunkt options ?

UK Market

Did also run the very popular SONY XRC - 620 RDS Radio Cassette Unit

or the CDX-5290 RDS Cassette CD unit and 10 speaker Hifi Unit

Mine has a Sony radio cassette (xrc 620) with a cdx91 10disc in the boot.

Also with the joystick controller mounted up by the rear view mirror!

Just checking on the UK market, the Varioram cars had 2 options outside the Porsche Kit which were all OPC fit.

Sony or Blaupunkt as below.

Some options from Becker

The Traffic Pro 7820, CD based screen Sat Nav

Followed up by their excellent Cascade 7944 which was popular on 996.2 models when it came out in the mid 00's

When I first purchased my car it had the Blaupunkt Toronto cassette unit. The LCD display was mullered so I whipped it out and have been running the RS blanking plate ever since! So no tunes for me :nooo:

I've got a Becker Cascade in mine too. I've still got an original Sony CD/Radio in the cupboard, although not sure why I'd ever want to put it back in.

Becker Cascade after an Indanapolis Pro (which looked better) the 944 has a Porsche Classic (which I didn't like in the 993)

Sony originally swapped for Becker Indanapolis Pro, suits the car well - just look at Endoman's pic above

Becker Indianapolis Pro 7950 (amber display). Because it looks more period than a Cascade :thumb:

Becker Indianapolis (Amber)

Mine had the Sony in place when I bought it. Whipped it pretty much straight away as it was my least favourite part of the car.

Now running a Blaupunkt (although not one of the ones listed) with a pure DAB adapter.

Sony XR-C620RDS Radio Cassette + Sony CDX 606 10-CD changer

Now removed - together with 1 mile of cable...

This was the original fitment in mine CR-2

Mine had the original Sony unit which I swapped for a Becker Cascade running 2013 BMW maps and fixed speed camera warnings :bandit:

I've got a... oh, wait... I'll only make the Illuminati cry. It's not a Becker.
