Assistance with hardwiring dash cam.

I've recently got a dash cam that was on sale, its pretty decent and after using it a few days I'd like to hardwire it in.

The issue with the cigarette lighter is:
1. It looks terrible
2. I use the lighter to charge my phone
3. I also use the lighter to charge the car with a solar panel
4. 2. Its always on (using motion sensor)!! (This would drain the battery over time, and just having replaced my battery I'm not in the mood to deal with that again)

Just wondering what (if anything) people have done to hard wire their dashcams in? Guess I'm more curious around where I would run the wire, and what I would wire it into to make sure its not always on.

A few thoughts from me:
- Would be simple if I could wire it into the dome lights
- wouldnt mind an always on connection if that is easier.... I can just put a kill switch inline somewhere hidden (as a bonus I could utilize the motion features this way if parked somewhere where I'm not comfortable)
