Hi All,
996tt
I have been getting wear on inner left wheel , after getting new front tyres and replacing lower control arms on both sides of rear with Meyles for MOT , the shop doing alignment could only get the rear left alignment into -6 degrees camber , rear right is adjusting fine within the correct range. the adjuster are not seized , all the upper arms are straight, where could cause this amount of negative camber , shop suggested loosening top bushing bolts and trying to get them tightened up in there best positive camber position , would bushing rubber top give this amount of negative camber if worn ?? at a loss here without going to porsche specialist , not sure if car was ever hit. not that I`m aware off anyway. all shocks springs standard , any advice on where to take some measurements?? anything

Unfortunately there has been a bad batch (Meyle) around for a few years.
Sounds by the story, you have a pair.
They fit the more non adjustable models, but don't correctly fit your TT especially the rear.
Im afraid you are best buying Genuine Porsche from somewhere like Design 911 :thumb:

Ill also go with the arms not being correct.

As a desperate measure you could try loosening the suspension hanger .. the subframe if you like and use a lever bar on it to pull it over but at best that will make one side better whilst the other will move further out of alignment .

The arms dont really bend , they can do but the metal used normally means they snap .. an accurate measure of both sides wil soon confirm that .

I would also check that the arm that wont come into spec is actually adjusting as the fixings can break and the bolts just spin and not adjust .

Thanks for your reply`s ,

funny i had them on 911 design then seen the same arms on ebay cheaper and cancelled the 911design, i did offer them up to the old ones when i got them ( by eye ), may take a few measurements on them compared to each other and old ones. but your comment on the bolts the side that is -6 degree out was easiest to get old bolts off , but i will get it up on jack stands again and actually turn bolt myself , when shop was doing alignment the wheel was taking weight of the car, and i know the bolt barrel has to kind go up hill in the slots to come in , i did ask him to jack that side up and turn but he said the lift was on ball bearings and moves in and out. But if there was a slight ridge on the those bolt slots it would be difficult to turn and pull wheel in and up , hoping i get dimension difference on the meyles any info on what was faulty on those , if i swapped sides would i get the -6 degree on the other side ? would get a new straight away if i thought it would correct that side just want to get it proved first Maybe the swap of sides will prove it to me just means taking it to shop to check alignment , hopefully i see something on the measurements , Thanks anyway i`ll see how it goes
