Has anyone seen more than 7 buttons used out of the possible ten available on the 991 below the gearlever? Or was Porsche just future-proofing for later options that may become available? The most I have seen is four on the left and three on the right. Are there any other options available to take up more?

The most common high switch count is 7

1. Sport
2. Sport Plus
3. PASM
4. PSM
5. Rear Spoiler
6. Sports Exhaust
7. Stop Start

per the image below

Further switches available were for PDCC and Front Axle Lift

Plus

Turbo's also has a switch for their adjustable front Spoiler

There was a different switch combo for the GT3

GT3's has switches for PDK Sport, ESC OFF and ESC + TC OFF
with the GT3 RS having an extra switch for PIT SPEED

Thank you. Perfectly explained.

there is also some science to where all of the buttons are placed

- top left is for the 'sport' models inc PDK Sport switches
- middle left are the suspension control swicthes
- bottom left are for the traction control switches
- top to middle right are for the 'options'
- bottom right, only ever seen Pit Speed

the blank switches are in our opinion a weak point in the 991 cabin design
