Thinking of selling fast red and wondering how much should I ask or more to the point how much should I accept for it...?

I simply don't have time to use it and over the last two years I have only done about 1500 miles, it has always been taxed and ready to use and has just been serviced, I have only drive it every couple of months, so don't know what to do with it.

2007 Red / black leather, manual with 53k miles.

Hi-

How many previous owners?
Does it have a full service history?

There's quite a few similar age/mileage cars on the market at the moment.

Dealer retail seems to be about £58k so if selling privately I'd advertise it at £55k and seriously entertain any offers at around £53k.

All the above assumes that the service history is as a buyer would expect.

If you don't want to suffer tyre-kickers / trade offers etc you might also get a better deal going SoR at one of the specialists.

At this moment i don't know the exact number of owner, but I think it was 4.
Yes full Porsche service history, with one exception where PARR did the service.

Not many GR Turbos around.
Keep it, keep it serviced and just enjoy the few miles you drive - I do.
In ten years, you will look back and say 'glad I didn't sell my beautiful Turbo for peanuts'.

+1 on that , unless you really do feel that you can't have it sat there doing nowt ........

As Scholester said there aren't too many in GR ...( askT8 he can probably tell you exactly how many !)

Keep it and take it out once a month for the grin factor ...!!

What is your daily driver Colin - is it something that is a hoot to drive and has you looking back at it when you park it up? Does it make you feel a little bit proud that you have worked hard to enable you to achieve owning nice things?

I know how you are feeling when you say that you don't know what to do with it due to few miles but some things are just a nice to have. Take artwork or second homes for occasional use. You don't really get that much from them apart from an occasional lift but they are a nice to have and, like the Turbo, maybe a sound investment - probably better than money in the bank. Just look at other older Turbo models (996 to a lesser degree) that are now priced beyond what us normal folk will ever be able to afford.

I sometimes think that I could buy another rental property with the Turbo money or pay off some mortgage or other boring way to spend it. But, I am a car man and I can't imagine not having something a bit special in the garage to play with when time allows.

You would miss it when it's gone and in a few years when you had realised your mistake, would you be able to afford to buy it back?

Exactly.... Especially paying off the mortgage bit... My friends keep going on about that. In their wanky Fiats and Fords. I love my turbo!

Agree with above, you have one of the most desirable cars at the present time. Manual Mezger Turbo with decent mileage so unless you need the money for life saving medical treatment I would leave it where it is. My only tip is SORN it, don't keep it taxed when your not using it your just giving away money to the government. It's so easy now to SORN a car and pay for the tax by monthly payment.

If you are desperate to sell for that life saving medical bill then try RSJ or 911virgin, if they're low on stock they might give you good money for it.

I bought my car for the reasons above, getting no interest on an ISA so converted the ISA into a 911 turbo, didn't take a lot to convince myself I'd done the right thing.

can't argue with any of that logic. We are just about to move into a larger house so have extended our small mortgage into a much larger one.

my wife said, 'could sell your car so we don't have to take so much mortgage on'.

'What?? Not doing that' was my reply

she seems to understand what is means to be fair though. Absolutely keep it

+1 997 turbo especially gen 1 still a bargain - hang on to it if you don't need the money

I'd say £53k might be a little optimistic, private. I just paid £46k for a 63k car from a dealer (fsh but remapped). Oakleaf have a dealers car at £53k on 67k that has stuck around.

Ok you're on 53k miles but I still think you should defo take anything that starts with a 5
