Third brake light seal

Hi guys, washing and polishing my car yesterday I have accidentally pulled the third brake light seal on the right side...it's not broken but it now sticks out a bit on 2 or 3cm around the light. I thought I could push it back in with my finger but it does not seem to want and stay in place....Any advise on how to fit it back in?
 
I would just pop off the cap, turn the clip and pop the light unit out..

Then you can easily repair the seal.
