I saw a great looking black 997 Turbo in Cardiff yesterday...

It was a coupe with a Tip box (not PDK) it had LED rear lights - which I assumed were aftermarket??

The rear light shape was 997.1 shape

My question was around age (as it had a private plate) - did the turbo follow the same years as the NA 997s ? is there a 997.2 turbo?

Anyone have estimates of 2nd hand values - my guess was £70K ish but I may be way out !!

Yes, there is a Gen2 997 Turbo (and Turbo S - which is Gen 2 and PDK only).

It went from 3.6 Mezger block to the new MA1 DFI unit (plus the option of PDK over Tip)

If it was Tiptronic it was a gen 1 car.

I'm not 100% certain but I think the Gen1.5 had LED rear lights so it could have been a late Gen1 car.

If the PCM surround was grey it was Gen1. If black it was a Gen 1.5.

Value wise ..... it depends on the mileage. Sub 30k mile cars command a hefty premium.

It would have to be a mint low mileage Gen1 car at a Porsche Specialist to be £70k.

Nope.

No OEM LEDs on Gen 1 (or "1.5")

They will have been Dectanes etc
