*apologies if this is somewhat cheesy and over elaborate- this is a copy and paste of what will be going on Pistonheads next week, and some of them are not as educated as you lot!
For Sale: 2000 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Manual
I love this car. This is my third 996 (previously had a 2002 C2 & 2003 Turbo) and its my favourite of the lot by a country mile. Its a lovely analogue thing and every time I drive it it makes me smile, it still retains a great sense of occasion when you sit behind the wheel. Recently featured in March's 911 & Porsche World magazine, this is a car that has had love and money lavished on it by all who have owned it, with a massive history file to match.
Sadly, a recent house move means that I need to free up the money tied up in it to renovate our kitchen, and despite the fact that these cars are appreciating in value I don't drive it enough to justify it living a life of luxury in the garage whilst we are eating dinner off of a wallpapering table.

Modifications
This was a really solid car when I bought it, so I decided to spend the slush fund I had and modify it slightly. Inspired by the RPM CSR cars, I've tried to make this a bit of a Clubsport type affair, but the effect is primarily visual and if a buyer wishes they could easily return it back to standard look inside and out as I have all the original parts (except the turbo look 5 spoke wheels it was originally on) available to purchase separately.
Wherever possible I have used genuine Porsche parts, but where Porsche have not offered an option I used quality parts from recognised manufacturers. There are no fibreglass horrors or Halfords specials on this car:
Body
-Genuine Porsche Tequipment 986 front bumper
-Genuine Porsche 996.2 Aero skirts fitted using genuine fixing kit
-RPM Carbon fibre ducktail, lacquered by RPM to leave weave showing. Uses GT3 wiring loom to prevent spoiler warning light, have not hacked original loom.
-Genuine Porsche GT3 high level brake light blank
-Full cosmetic respray in original Schwartz black (before/after pictures are available to prove no damage)
-New front scuttle panel, wiper arms and screen trims (originals were faded)
-Red/white rear lights and side indicators replaced with genuine early amber lights
-Ceramic Paint protection by TK detailing
Interior
-Genuine Porsche Cup Alcantara steering wheel (airbag resistor in place) with matching gear gaiter
-Corbeau bucket seats retrimmed by TrimDeluxe in Littlehampton using Porsche Savannah leather (solid in bolsters, perforated in centres, like hardbacks) with crest embossed in headrest
-GT3 centre console delete
-Many Savannah interior plastics replaced with genuine Porsche black parts
-Upgraded Becker Mexico Head unit
-New genuine Porsche mats
Chassis
-H&R lowering springs
-Fully refurbished Porsche/BBS sport Classic wheels with gold centres
-TPI Hubcentric 10mm spacers on all 4 wheels
-4 Wheel alignment carried out at Northway after suspension and spacers added
-New Michelin PS4 tyres (Not N rated- but a better tyre in my opinion)
-Refurbished callipers with brake bells painted black (left standard they rust and look awful!)
Engine
-Dansk sports exhaust back boxes- not the noisy ones (marine grade fixings used)
-Topgear X-Pipe with 200 cell cats - will pass MOT (marine grade fixings used)
-ITG Panel filter
-Intake pipe and resonator delete to airbox
....Plus lots of other little bits and pieces I can't remember! I'd love to see this car bought by another enthusiast who will look after it like I have and take it to the next step. Private plate will be removed before sale.
Few 'bad' things I am aware of:
-The last MOT had an advisory for slightly corroded brake pipes. I immediately discussed this with my technician who had a look at them and felt that replacement was not warranted at this time.
-The levers on the sill for the boot and bonnet are scratched from shoes being dragged over them. I have looked for replacements on eBay but all have been as bad. Originals are £200+ from Porsche, and I could not justify that!
-The extended leather interior has a few very small marks from people getting into the back of the car
-Although its last major service was only 1000 miles ago, this was just over a year ago so by the strictest definition a minor service is due. For the asking price I will get this is booked in with Northway and get it done.
As we speak the car is having its annual paint correction and ceramic protection added by TK detailing in basingstoke so its all pretty for Beaulieu this weekend, so will be available to view there, and then at my home from Monday 5th June onwards.
Please PM if you have any questions- The detailer is taking more pictures tomorrow so I'll get those added as soon as he gets them to me.
Asking price: £16650 - Sensible offers considered
