Found this for sale today.

http://www.pauldevyea.co.uk/detail.aspx?id=c4996

It's the third time that PDPS have sold it. Firstly £16,995, then at £17,995 and now it's up for £19,995.

After paying £23,995 for it in 2009 (when it had only done 43k miles) and only getting £13k for it in 2013 when it had 53k miles the notion of paying £19,995 to get it back with 66k miles up wouldn't sit right with me.

Shame because I have such fond memories of the old girl and only sold it because of reading too many IMS scare stories. Sad

Cool I think you sold at the wrong time, and values have bounced.

So many of my past cars I wish I could buy back...

Don't forget that your money will have depreciated in those 8 years, so that reduces the "loss".

Also, these cars are appreciating (I think), so that will help, too.

Finally, if you've got great memories of the car, buy it!!!

At £20k it is not actually that expensive. Selling it for £13k wasn't the right decision. Buying it back probably would be though.

911uk should buy it

Each month you can do a vote on what mod's to do on it, which Indy or OPC to take it to, etc.

You could give it a 911uk wrap, take it to shows, use it for showcasing parts/sponsors work.

One lucky 'winner' each year can get to take it to the 'ring or Dinslaken

Just an idea

Don't do your dough on it. Remember it will have been traded for less than the screen price as I keep telling my 'last of the air-cooled' chums Hand

It's still a good car for someone entering/upgrading in the marque Thumb

It's a good idea: the forum would have to become a club with a rather larger membership fee to be able to source and run a 'club car' for the benefit and fun of the members...

Don't feel too sorry, he stepped on to the Turbo conveyer, which by all accounts travels faster than the cooking one.

Buy it. You sold it because you were worried about IMS, which has been fixed, so either add that £2200 to what you sold it for or knock it off (in your head) the current price. That brings it to 18k, or your sale to £15k.
I recently bought my cab from Coventry, drove it back home to Surrey and the other day our electrician popped round, staring open-mouthed at the car - he used to own it then sold a few years ago when he started his business and moved down South, always missed it and now looking for another one. You know the history of yours, there's more work been done to it since, you'll regret it if you don't.
Just my tuppence worth.

Fond memories .............. Post from May 2013.

"After 3.5 years and nearly 11,000 miles my beloved C4 has gone. Sad

For a long time I really couldn't see me wanting a different car but for several reasons - not just the very real concern about potential IMS bearing failure or scored bores (no matter how unlikely) - the time was just right for a change.

To keep within a sensible budget I started looking at Turbos of a similar age and condition cars to mine but found that most were 70k miles+ and were just starting to have patchy recent histories. As is usually the case this quickly led to the budget being increased to allow the search to include newer and/or lower mileage cars.

Frustratingly my search was regularly impeded by me falling in love with the old C4 over-and-over again and for a long time I was 75% of a mind to just carry on driving with my fingers crossed and keep enjoying the fantastic car I already had.

A month ago I resigned myself to waiting another year and then, by chance, whilst casually scrolling through AutoTrader ads for 'anything under £30k' I stumbled across a car that hadn't featured in the '911 Turbo' search I'd done previously. It seemed like fate that the seller was a Porsche Specialist local to me that I'd known of for a long time so I thought it'd at least be worth a look.

An 04 car with 48k miles and fpsh was always going to more than I intended to spend but given that this one had recently had new discs, pads and a full rad set I figured that it made sense to 'bite the bullet' and go for it.

Polar Silver with Metropole interior wasn't quite the Arctic Silver and black I imagined but as soon as I saw in the flesh I was hooked as it works really well.

A sensible part-ex offer and an in-house 6 month/6k mile warranty clinched the deal and I picked her up today.

The 50 mile drive home - including a few detours for pictures - was only enough to form basic 996C4 v 996T thoughts so I'll leave the comparisons for now. Suffice to say I'm Cloud 9 and Yahoo ".

Think that garage should list in the ad - 'owned by T8'. Could easily slap another grand on it Grin

On the topic of Roady McCar Face. I saw that car down in a local Garden centre foyer in St Tropez.
