My dream 993 build...May not be yours

Before I start, I knew and I always will know this isn't to everyone's taste,
My dream for the past 5 years was to build my own 911 to this standard and specification and I done it for myself not to keep everyone else happy...

I purchased the car in a bit of a sorry state just over a year ago...
It was a nice wee base..
1995 Carrera 4
Full specialist and dealer history
It sadly was involved in a light accident which resulted the car into being catagory D....
This was ideal for myself as I wanted a blank canvas to work with....
The car had light bumper damage and absolutely no chassis strain or damage.

First thing was to get it home to Northern Ireland

As you can see previously in its life the wee car had an RS kit fitted and not the best paint job in the world so next step was to strip it back completely to bare metal

Once the car was fully stripped i chose to repainted it in Polar silver,
I had a couple of alterations done such as...
Ducktail rear bootlid, widebody appearance skirts, genuine turbo front bumper and RS rear bumper.

Next step was the interior,
I had a fully custom built FIA approved half cage fabricated for the car and I managed to get my hands on a pair of recaro SPG seats and scroth harnesses,
I had the interior totally retrimmed, dash, rs style doorcards momo wheel etc etc all retrimmed in bridge of weir leather and alcontara with a red stitch.

Next up was the wheel setup and suspension...
There was a fully custom made suspension setup - fully adjustable hydraulic suspension... and I built a set of stepped up BBS rs chrome plated wheels

The car had a lot of new rubbers/ seals new windows etc also fitted and no expensise was spared on details

Car undergone a full engine out inspection also, new camcovers, plugs, double flush of oils, new discs and pads all round also by a senior qualified porsche tech. Then as image below was given a full MOT

All the bodywork and suspension was done by a good friend John Peden and is flawless, trimming work was done by optimous trimming in Scotland

Im sure I've missed loads but I am more than willing to answer any questions
Thanks a lot

Great build and some nice touches Niall. :thumb:

Have you any links to better pics? as the ones you posted are too small to make out detail and when you click on them they led to text only.

Loving the RS'.

Edit: Logged in and now got pics. Some great work there.

I get full pics when I click on the ones in the thread...

Love: the ducktail, the interior, the effort and the fact that it's to your taste.
Hate: the collapsed suspension.

Hi Niall,

Think I saw pics of this at Dubshed?. I admire your dedication. Looks like no expense spared too.

Love the amount of work and attention to detail, and that you've done what you wanted to do.

Not for me though, the dropped look; the wheels or the side skirts, but it looks a quality job!!

:)

A mighty fine build there sunshine :thumb:
Lots of thought and effort that has paid dividends :bandit: :bandit: :bandit:

Good work fella......the interior is awesome must look up Optimous

Bodywork looks impressive and I know I am in the minority but I just love the C2 as it left the factory.....

looking great. what are your plans for the car - is it more of a cruiser or will you be driving the snot out of it on road/track? If so, will you convert to RWD? Known some people have converted their 4WD 993 turbos to RWD

Very nice chap! Looks like an LA cruiser. Top work. What you neeeeed to do is get on over to Simply Porsche at Beaulieu Park next weekend!

Looks great OP. Would like a closer look sometime. Where abouts in Ni are you?

Thanks a lot for all your comments,
The plan with the car now is to just drive it when it's a nice day....
I work in car sales in a large dealership specialising in high end used stock..I.e. Audi rs3/4/5/6 911s Cayman's m3/5s etc so I always wanted one of these as it's completely different jumping into it rather than jumping in these new cars every day!
Don't think I'll ever track the car - more just enjoy it for what it is.
I live outside Lurgan btw to all Northern Ireland forum members!

Mate, I think we've met: if I'm right, I was at your place in my 993 last autumn talking to Mark and he called you over....

Yes Harryk that's right,
Car was still a long way off back then, so glad to get it finished :)
Must catch-up some time again

Props to you Niall for creating your vision. Nice to see someone take on a 993 :)

You planning any shows on the mainland?

Chris
