Well after hearing a rattle from the front passenger side after hitting a slightly depressed manhole cover I crawled home and booked into a local specialist.
I received the dreaded call this morning to explain I had a snapped spring!
After the initial 'oh ***** this is going to be costly' moment the prices quoted to replace springs, top mounts and dampers was much more reasonable than I could believe so getting the front end polybushed and tie rods replaced and finally getting my rss mounts fitted.
I can't wait to finish work and get down to pick it up despite the bill I will need to pay
If only my powerflex gearbox mounts could have been fitted but despite calling d911 to confirm I was ordering the right part they are the wrong version and it's been to long since I ordered to return them now.

Arr well it's a bank holiday weekend, the weather is supposed to be great and I am looking forward to getting up early and going for a drive on some great roads.
Just as a bonus the missis admitted a year after buying that she secretly likes driving it particularly on her own and having it parked outside the house. This is despite calling me a child for buying a 911 and being annoyed about it how I spent more than she thought was sensible

Happy days

I'm still waiting for the day my Mrs admits to liking the Pork.

Good result. (Apart from the pothole/mounts)

I find normal running cost are pretty much the same as any German car but a lot more fun than most of them :thumb:

My wife only likes my car when I drive normal !!!

I quite enjoy having somebody who also likes speed particularly if you have a journey to do and don't want to do all the driving.
I still think she misses the fiesta st though but I know what I prefer :?:

RSS mounts fitted and front suspension work completed

Well car is back and although I have only driven it through town in some heavy traffic I already can't wait to go for a longer drive. The front end feels amazing with the new dampers, springs and poly bushes. So much feel and smoothness to the steering.
I think the RSS mounts have made an even bigger difference though. Can't believe how much more together and predictable the back end feels even at low speeds. It bounces far less, the clutch action and shifting feels at least 50% better, the throttle response now feels like sport when in normal but also really pleased it's stopped my seat flippers from rattling at idle, whoop whoop. All this and the only penalty seems a slightly louder engine note and feeling a few more vibrations from it which I have a feeling I might actually prefer in the end.
Already set my alarm for 0600 to get out on some clear roads :D :D

Good result.

Watch out as rain+dusty roads = very greasy!

James

Thanks, I think PSM might only be changed to sport mode rather than off :hand:
