Hello Everyone,

I am a new member looking to buy a 964.

I have found one that I am really interested in but there are some gaps in the history and I was hoping someone on here may know the car.

It is an Amazon Green C2 Coupe Manual registered in 1992.

Previous registration numbers are:

119POD
H11GCY
K520SGC

It's had 12 owners in its' life so hopefully someone out there knows it.

Thanks in advance

David

Is/was this Phil's car from Stratford :?:

Amazon is a rare colour. What's the spec/mileage and overall condition as this may be an influencer over any 'gaps' in the service history and whether it's by age as opposed to excess mileage between servicing :dont know:

Hi Zingari,

Thanks for your reply. It is Amazon Green with cashmere, currently owned by a chap in Brentwood. He bought it from a trader/enthusiast in May 2014.

Looking at the car it has had:

Rear wiper delete, cup alloys, cup mirrors, 3 spoke steering wheel and lowered suspension.

It was subject to a CAT C write off in October 2010, which the current owner has no details for, this was when it was on 119POD plate. Has ok service history, main dealer originally and then bits of specialist along the way.

It's covered 137k miles but there are no invoices for engine rebuilds, although it did have a clutch a few years back possibly.

I'm trying to find out why it was a CAT C and if any major work has been done. The paintwork isn't great, rust on the OSF wing and NSR wing and wasn't sure if this was a poor repair.

Just want as much info as possible as I don't want to be buying a world of pain!!!

Many thanks

David

Thanks Demort,

I've spoken to Tony at Carrera Engineering who will look over it for me.

Has anyone used them before?

He seems to know his stuff so worth the money whether I buy it or walk away.

Thanks

David

Phil Osbourne user name K520SGC on Pistonheads is 'shown' to have owned this car in 2008. Might be worth seeing if he is still active there :thumb:

Cat C. Value it as a straight car with said mileage/condition and then knock off a third and you're thereabouts.

This is a later engine so it wont necessarily have needed a top end rebuild to sort the oil leaks. :what:

Thanks Zingari,

I'll try and track Phil down.

Looking at £23k as a purchase price. Seems good to me and leaves some cash in the kitty to get things down as and when.

I know I'll need a bigger kitty as time goes on but for the next 6 months I just want to drive it and smile :D well hopefully!!

Thanks again
