Yep new record although its basically an old new car. Amazing how these were panned by all the journos at launch - give it a few years and time warp cars will be trading at list or above.

Hindsight is indeed a wonderful thing Martian. I should be living in Monaco now instead of still working if I'd traded my stocks and shares at the right time wack Grin

2007 Porsche 997 Turbo

PostPosted: Fri Apr 07, 2017 2:13 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Get in quick, someone can have my Mezger manual for £80K today.

'Genuine investment opportunity'. Laughing

Looking back, I got a steal on my car. I bought it at the end of the 'credit crunch' in 2009 for £66K. It was then a two year old, 10K mile Turbo which was sold to the original owner for £115K. Thumb

For 85K I think a 997.2 Turbo S is a better buy. But I hope I am wrong, lets see if it sells at that price Smile

Did you forget to multiply by the Yellow factor i.e. 1.5x Smile there is no chance of the other blown yellow 977 coming on the market in the mid/near future afterall....they are rarer in SY than the r or 918 and no favours for the OPC DP required to get one...I'll get my coat before the responses start ..

Hope the OP finds what he is looking for...

Meant to say... a pretty impressive showing from your 80K (mile) turbo given the company you were in Smile

If I'm not mistaken this car was bought from the original owner in Scotland by The Yorkshire Porsche Specialist for around £57k. They then advertised the car for around £69k ish
The car then disappeared and has now reasooearwd for £85k
Absolute joke Grin

Yes 9e 28 (997.1 turbo) could have maybe even got second if I had not been quite such a crap driver Grin

Interesting how you manged to go faster than the LT! I thought given that car had more power, was lighter (due to its carbon tub) and would have had another advantage with that dual clutch gearbox it would have been quicker? Depends on the driver I guess but on paper you had no chance Smile

I have never seen any Macca break 200 mph at VMAX other than P1 and I must have come across at least 20 maccas over the last 3 years. I found the Aventador SV and TDF curiously slow too. The Aventador SV certainly just couldn't live the 9e 28 - I think the driver thought his car was broken! May well have been broken as surely it should be faster. Most of the high end cars probably under driven with owners more than likely molly coddling their "investments".
