I am considering selling my 911 after 3 years of ownership! with the arrival of the second child, a bmw track car, an ongoing RX7 project and an extension I need to get something more practical but I have no idea of the value of the car as there is nothing comparable on ebay, pistonheads, autotrader or here, spec is as below

1999 911 996 C4 3.4
MOT till 10/17 no advisories
Full HPI check from when I purchased is available
Private plate P911 KYO
Huge folder of history. When I purchased the car I did add everything up I think it totalled over £50k in repairs and servicing
Mileage currently shows 83k but these are not the original dials. The previous owner had issues with a number of the gauges so these were changed. The original gauges were on 92k when changed the replacement read 73k so mileage is 101k I have invoices with mileage and gauges issues as evidence
New engine and gearbox fitted by Porsche at about 50k (I will need to check the exact mileage) all paperwork and invoices available
I have serviced the car myself since ownership (oil and filter change ever 6K) and always take the filter apart for inspection. I have photos of the last filter change late last year
brake fluid flush late last year

In my ownership I have:
Replaced the steering rack
Fitted new top mounts
New fork arm
Coffin arm
Installed a replacement driveshaft as the original was knocking
Lowered
Momo steering wheel
Radiator and boot fan override switches installed in cabin easily removed if not required but I have done this mod to all my cars as an override and it does not affect the fan auto functions.

Other Modifications
18" Porsche techno wheels
Sports exhaust
Induction kit

Issues:
Front bumper could do with a blow over as it has a number of stone chips. Nothing major just 17 years of use
lower temp rad fans do not work but high work fine. These need the resistors replaced I have details of these I have just not got around to changing them.
Very light curbing on rear wheels in places if being fussy

Price wise what's a C4 manual aero kit worth with the history, mileage and condition? the nearest on psitonheads is £20k but half the mileage and the other is on here for 17k

I think that comment will have given you an idea on pricing. :hand:

Nice looking car. The mileage and the lack of 'official' service history will put some people off so I would say advertise at £14/15k ish?

£20k for a good straight low mileage one, more if it's exceptional, less if not. £15k sounds about right. Best be straight with the history as you have been, although departure from standard will put some people off.

Nice looking car. Hold out for the right price and good luck.

Looks lovely and a really sought after package. I would be more ambitious than £15k, try a more and have room to manoeuvre if necessary.

I would say for £20k the car would need to be exceptional, with low miles and perfect history. Chiefs Zanzibar car springs to mind.
I'm certainly no expert but I'd put yours at £14-15K assuming it is straight.

Thanks for the comments guys, much apperiated. I have been as honest as possible with history and condition the car has nothing to hide. I wasn't thinking of asking 20k it's just that was the only price I could find one for and the red one that was for sale looked unbelievable!! I'll spend the next couple of months enjoying it and getting the very few issues sorted then look at advertising!

With regards to modifications I do have all the original bits

That's a great looking car.. I think the prices mentioned are about right..

There are a couple of zenith blue ones with aerokit and 70k miles for £17k on autotrader at the moment...

Another with 57k miles, black for £18.5k

All C4...

I have just been looking for a 996 with aerokit. There have been quite a few recently advertised on Pistonheads, here, Autotrader and eBay. Low mileage full historied cars seem to be £17-20k, others from around £13k upwards, but at that price the history is usually not full and there's usually lots of jobs that need doing. I rang up re. a 59k mile car with history for £12750, but I couldn't get to it. It needed condensers and a full suspension refresh, so around £4k at a specialist, so £16750 effectively. It also had some minor dents. It sold within a few days to the first guy who looked at it.

I would therefore say that £12k to £15k, depending on how much work needs doing.

I ending up buying Chief's Zanzibar car. It is lovely!

I looked at that car....
It drove really well and had good history etc.
The paintwork was totally shot and it needed a complete respray. I budgeted £4-5k for a repaint and made an offer. It sold for close to asking I think.

I know Marks car (I tried to buy it last year) and would say you bought one of, if not the best 996.1 around.

Assuming you mean the one for £12750? That's interesting as the guy didn't mention that, funnily enough! Just shows - lots of cars out there, but not many good ones.

Thank you - it is lovely. I don't think Mark was quite ready to sell it last year.

Interestingly there was a white aerokitted C2 for sale privately a few weeks ago up at £19k, with 55k miles with a very good history. It sold very quickly and reappeared at a "prestige" garage and sold in a couple of days in the "early 20's". The garage owner said it was truly immaculate and how popular aerokitted 996.1 are becoming and he could sell 10 just like it. He also said how few really good ones there are left because until recently most owners didn't want to spend on maintaining them properly as the values didn't warrant it. As we know, that means the really good ones can only go up! Hopefully, :)

Am I correct in thinking that a factory fitted aero kit would have it listed in the option codes for the car? XAA or something like that?

That would be Russell at Knights Garage, he bought it from someone who frequents this site. It was up for £22.5k and sold instantly. I bought mine from Russell. Im also hoping that the Aero kit models are appreciating as I also gave very strong money for mine.
