Jacking point rust

Good evening all,
Just went into the garage to try my new poly jacking pads and on closer inspection noticed quite a lot of surface rust on both front and rear jacking points.
Is this fairly usual?
I was surprised to see them in this state I have to say.

Normal I think, but I would also like to do something about mine.

cheap metal, or poorly galvanised, my 996 was rotting in places it shouldn't have done.

With the wear that they get from jacks etc, I would say that is fairly normal, I know mine are similar. A little Jenolite and a coat of tough paint would be a good idea!
