Had a bit of a shocker !

Strange how these things unfolded in between a few drives
Noticed a slightly higher idle a few days ago.
Yesterday I get a steady yellow CEL light.

Needed the car, so spoke to my Indy, read a few posts here , and took a chance that it's a sensor. Had plenty of oil pressure / level. No odd noises.

So today I took a look around engine bay in case of loose hoses .
First thing i noticed was that it was dirtier than usual. Then I see the oil filler tube doesn't appear to be fully attached

I attempt to push it back on, and it comes away in my hands.
Spend ages attempting to reattach, and with pushing and pulling it snaps in half :frustrated:

So I guess that explains the CEL, and the fact that my recent oil top up didn't register much on the gauge.

I expect may be off the road until my Indy can fit me in !
Glad I have plenty of time before Dinslaken!!
Was already booking for an oil change and fitting my new Tandem pump

Feel for you, hope it is sorted out soon.

Bit of research, appears a common issue

So whilst all the airbox and alternator (plus other bits) are out , I expect I'll end up doing the AOS and water pump as well :dont know:
