I'm so excited, i've had a pretty bad week but hopefully it's about to get better. I'll strip it down at my mates garage, soak the sensors over the weekend and take the tips away to get re polished, hopefully all back together on Monday.

Good lad. You won't be disappointed. Have you gone for the equal length headers?

Good luck hope your nuts are ok :thumb:

Well done pal. Only here once :thumb:

Look forward to the write up 8)

All went well! Luckily the 4 bolts on each side of the turbo must have been changed to stainless recently👍 The top ones are awkward little beggars especially with the heat shields in the way.
We had to heat up the oxygen sensors to get them to shift, the black cabled ones being more stubborn. We stripped the threads on one of them so will have to buy one of those.

I've brought home the tips for a good clean, I've never quite got all the carbon off, my wife says to try oven pride and then put in a bag over night lol

A few pics, I know you all like pictures 👍👍

Did mine at Christmas and it's a sod of a job especially that N/S exhaust to flange nut, took me about an hour to tighten it up!
Which cat did you go for, the 200cell?

Yes 200cell didn't want to get any warning lights or a remap.

You will be pleased, still not the full N/A 911 experience but a massive improvement.

Sounds like a jet with the afterburners lit on full attack.

1 of the top five mods for the tubby. :thumb:

I had mine fitted last week. I've had the system since before Christmas, but only just got round to having it fitted.

I also went for the 200 cell system but with the carbon tailpipes. Let us know how you get on cleaning the originals up as I currently have mine in the shed and will probably do the same in case I decide to sell them or refit in the future.

Despite not replacing the headers due to cost, I did take the preventative measure of having the manifold bolts replaced with a titanium set I got off here. At least then if I change the headers in the future there shouldn't be any drama. That was my thinking anyway :?:

Luckily all the manifold bolts came out quite easily with very little fuss I was worried about this part of the process. The bolts each side of the turbos were a different story however and what was left of them were completely shot. making removal somewhat difficult!

Anyway. The new exhaust all went on without any issues and despite only driving it for a few miles since, the difference is night and day. Although as said before it'll never sound like N/A, it does make a big change to the character of the car. I think you'll be pleased with the mod... I am :thumb:

Shewie cheers, did you have any problems with the lambda sensors? I need to find a supplier, it's the black cabled one.

I admire you chaps doing it yourself, which is not an option for a old git who once down on one knee needs help to stand up again plus my tool kit is a small hammer and a larger hammer. Revolution Porsche in Brighouse fitted my 200 cell and did a cracking job, replaced the sensors as ten years corrosion is too much . The struggled lining up the new design tech tips but again did a sterling job. As for the Kline well it has transformed my car, why did I wait so long to let my baby breath :D

I'm lucky mate has is own commercial garage, he looks after a fleet of 12 vans for me and I get to play with his expensive snap on stuff happy knowing if I break it snap on will replace lol nice to use the ramps and get your hands dirty, think it makes you bond more with your car lol :floor:

Yes the manifold bolts/studs are totally different on the Turbo to the standard car, I too was having palpitations about removing them but they all came out with no drama.
The nuts on the turbo side are a complete ball ache, or whats left of them.
I found a good small very sharp chisel did most of the work then a good pair of vice/mole grips did the rest. Managed to keep all the same studs as they didn't get damaged, just cleaned the threads up with a tap/die set.
One good tip here, when you do get the nut starting to move even if its only a few mm, soak it in WD-40 then work it back and forward with more WD-40 and they then come off easily without damaging the stud.
On reassembly if you can't get hold of titanium nuts I just used zinc coated ones, put plenty of copper slip or moly grease on as it's rated up to about 1100 deg C. This will help if you sell the car and decide to keep the box.
After you've run the car for a week or two re-torque the bolts as the gaskets will have settled in.
I'm kicking myself for not buying a Kline but I was planning selling the car so didn't do it, regrets I've had a few!

Good on you for having a go. Lift does help to. Would be causious of anything abrasive on the tips. I replaced mine as one looked as though the chrome plate had been rubbed through by overzealous cleaning.
Looks like the turbo was in some unusual company, Escort Cab ??? :thumb:
