Ceramic brakes- care when cleaning

I read in Evo that the carbon ceramic brake discs on Astons can be damaged by wheel cleaner sprays, meaning replacement at £££££

Not sure if PCCBs can be similarly afflicted, but maybe should be borne in mind when you're out with the bucket n' sponge.
 
Think you should avoid the Polish car washes...
I've seen ceramic brakes destroyed by the high acid products they use...
