Anyone know if it's possible to run a breather catch tank on the 996 and blank off/remove the recirc connection on the exiting TB plenum?

Aside from having to periodically empty the tank I can't see any drawbacks and the inlet manifold will not be filled with oil should the air oil separator fail.

Thoughts Question

Catch tanks were used on the very early Porsches but on a 996 i think it would be the same as having the oil cap removed Dont know

It wouldnt run very well if so .

Or i may just be totally confused here Very Happy

I'm wondering the same thing, maybe it needs to be a closed system?

I suspect it needs to be a closed loop for the emissions systems to work ok.

AOS's last a few years - better to just fit a new one & forget it?

I have other mods going on, converting to a 997 GT3 TB so makes sense to loose the breather connection if it's an option...
