Event starting Wed Jun 07, 2017 11:00 pm for 6 days

Hi everyone

It has taken a while to sort out my forum access but, now that is has been, I am delighted to say that I am posting this as the official events partner of 911uk.com.

After a successful first Porsche tour to the Porsche Freunde show in Dinslaken last year, I have arranged another tour for 2017. While it is flattering to have this topic named after me a lot of people may have ignored it in view of the title. I therefore thought it best to start a new topic for the 2017 tour to France.

The highlights of the tour are:
- 5 nights in France, 8-13 June.
- Plenty of time exploring the stunning, quiet roads in the Morvan and Vosges regions.
- A day at the Dijon-Prenois circuit to watch some classic racing, with the option of taking part in one of the 20 minute Parade Lap sessions.
- A visit to the Cité de l'Automobile in Mulhouse, which is home to the world famous Schlumpf collection.
- Detailed satnav files so you can concentrate on enjoying the driving.
- Carefully chosen hotels.
- The support of an experienced team.

For more information and to book please go to this page of my website or contact me if you have any questions.

There has already been lots of interest from other people but the confirmed attendees so far are:
1. Barclayboy & Longers (lead car)
2. Tim & Greg (the "noisy" other lead car from 2016!)
3. MilSub
4. Millomboy
5. Kat1
6. 11PXF
7. Fatboy74
8. Madalaa
9. Sen
10. Barryn
11. Dosa

I will add more details here and on my website over the coming weeks.

Cheers,
L'rs

Shame it's the week before Le Mans which is the week before Royal Ascot, and therefore already an expensive month. Otherwise looked great. Good luck with it.

Great to see some familiar names on the list so far.

The trip is going to be fantastic, and the sun will shine... fresh parts fitted to the car and fresh roads to test them on. With great people, what could be better. 👍👍🙂

Sorry I can't make it this year, it clashes with about the only thing in my diary this summer - an old-boys football weekend! (Though I'll also be at Le Mans the following weekend if I can make bail...)

Have a great trip, enjoy the beer and have a gherkin for me at Dinslaken! Wink

Cant do this one for a blend of reasons like the above.

Please keep me on the "mailing list" and (as a polite suggestion) may be worth setting dates earlier as I know a lot people work diaries 12 months out for big trips

That's a shame Tobes. Hopefully next time Wink

Clarkey, as I mentioned at the start of the topic it took longer than to expected to dot the i's and cross the t's with the forum to get my access sorted. Now that I am the official events partner for 911uk I will be able share details of future tours a lot sooner.

Cheers,
L'rs

Tobes, Clarkey & Zingari,

The Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or is an annual event at Dijon Prenois and the roads in Morvan and Vosges aren't going anywhere so if there is enough demand I could always repeat this trip in 2018?

The only problem with that is you might miss out on the "new for 2018" trip I'll be running. Unless you did both... Very Happy

Thanks Andy, all sorted now Wink

Well only a couple of weeks to go until this tour ...... what news?

My outbound shuttle is a little later than I wanted and I forgot the one hour time difference ...... duh ........ I am on the 16:16 which arrives Calais 17:51 so won't be at the hotel until about 6.30pm ...... I am sure further details of the hotel in Calais will be forthcoming shortly as I have forgotten where it is ...... I think it's a Holiday Inn?

I think most of us are on the 16.50 train so we'll see you at the hotel.

You are right, it's the Holiday Inn for the first night.

Full details of all the hotels, routes, etc, will be sent soon.

My 1000th post. Booked on the 16.16 train. Andy see you there. Return trip cost me £60.00 worth of Tesco vouchers-every little helps. thumbsup

Longers, we had a Whatsapp group for the trip round north Wales. Might be worth setting one up for this trip?

I feel honoured to have been included in your 1000th post Ian Very Happy

I read your email about the WhatsApp group before I set off for the Spa Classic last week - apologies that I obviously forgot to reply before I left the UK...

I agree it's a great idea so I've set the group up. I'll be sending an update email & invite to everyone tomorrow Wink
