Just had a renewal price from Axa PPP, which made my eyes pop out of head.

So, in light of this, what is the best firm out there today, for the most competitive Insurance prices?!

I have about three weeks before my cover expires...

Thanks in advance all.

Best to have a look at your favourite comparison site if you want mainstream cover, Admiral have been competitive past 2-3 years, there's also Aviva, Direct Line who are not on the sites.

If you like the idea of included agreed value, breakdown, modification friendly, club member discounts, agreed mileage discounts, choice of repairers etc. it's worth looking at specialist high performance insurers or classic (depending on mileage), as they might not be cheaper, but they might be better value for you, depends what you want included (or not) really. AIB/Hiscox, ClassicLine, ManningUK, Bridle, etc, spring to mind.

That's good news for me Faried! I am also with classicline and I was dreading the call to them.

I have always been so pleased with classicline. My current policy covered all my mods (before it went in for surgery) cost around 400quid for the year. Includes track cover, agreed value and I am still under 30 (just).

Tom

I told them absolutly everything and in fine detail too. I am actually thinking of framing the pdf letter as i giggled to myself. ++++ bhp and no increase in your policy sir

I am ready to collect the car this week for some bedding miles

HAHA I may need to borrow a copy in case they don't offer me the same! In fairness I have done very few miles in it this year so they owe me something :)

Looking forward to seeing your car mate

Cheers guys.
Just tried Oliver @ Classic, but unfortunately, he no longer works there. I've left my details with them to call me back any how.
Will try other sites over the next day or so.

01455 639 000 and [email protected]

just checked my email and the reply was not from Oliver...apologies

Just got the call back - they were slightly more expensive than my current provider, and a few hundred quid more than some of the Money Supermarket results.

Onwards.... :nooo:

It may have been because your mileage is higher than "classic" mileage? This tripped me up as I need 7k miles a year, ClassicLine were very competitive at 5k miles a year, but not above. I have a Hiscox "high value" policy via AIB which worked out better, but Insurance has so many variables, what's good for one person, their postcode, their mileage, their car etc., isn't for another.

In my experience the various Insurance companies are often a good price for the first year and then just go extortionate to renew- it's so tedious to have to keep swapping around.
I think I was with NFU for about £300........they then went up to nearly £600 to renew?!?!
I went elsewhere for a year and then when I went back to NFU it had returned to £300ish

try Nationwide. They are underwritten by LVE which was under £500 for mine not garaged and business miles, which was £400 less than quoted by AiB also underwritten by LVE - I have no idea why.... Classicline where very helpful but no good for anything over 7k miles p/a.

I gave up calling around and just went with Nationwide who, on balance, seemed to be the better option using the comparison website. There were many quotes cheaper on the comparison sites but they had firm names that I didn't recognise so I excluded them which may have been an error on my part. I just don't have the patience to spend 3+ hours or more searching...

ManningUK have been good for me for years. Competitive, easy to deal with, no trouble if you make a claim and no issues if you want to choose your own repairer. No issues with modifications if you are so inclined either.
