Thought I'd ask if any interest.

Phil 997 recommended a company in pool called wicked coatings.

It's a professional job removing all the rubber coating, painting or carbon dipping and lacquer.

They just quoted £180 if the console breaks down into 5 to 7 pieces.

I quickly asked if they could offer a group buy for say 5 911uk members and they said they could but asked if I could find out if any interest.

Any interest? And does anyone know how many pieces it breaks down too?

Hope it's ok for me to do this 👍👍

Cheers Chris

Hi Chris,

I'm a possibly. I was going to do this myself but if it's not mega bucks I could join a group buy.

Thanks

Jason.

Chris , Great idea on the group buy, It might prompt me to get on with it if I was part of a group buy, and I like the idea of saving a few quid. so count me in . :thumb: now I am under pressure to decide what colour do I go for
Acid green as accents
Midnight blue as body colour
Piano black because its sexy

Wicked coatings are a coatings specialist not a body shop so they could do anything you like from regular painting using high quality lacquers to wood effect, carbon dip, flames , I even saw a leather and snake skin effect hydro dip. They have painted my whole aero kit front and back, plus all the carbon dipping on my car, I have been very pleased with the quality of their work. and if the Quality Control team are not happy it gets redone no questions.

Are you feeling OK, Phil? No mention of bare naked lady images amongst your potential options....

I'm friends with Chris and Lyle who own wicked coatings- I might give them a call in the morning if it helps Phil?

Aaron, mate anything you can do to assist with the group buy price would be appreciated. Lyle is a really nice guy and he took a personal interest in painting my aerokit and due to the shape of the rear spoiler it failed QC inspection 3 times and went back to be repainted, gave me great confidence in their quality of work. let us know if you can swing anything :thumb:

I am interested to know about this product, is this similar to the actual product used by Porsche on the console.

"Soft Touch Paint for Interiors
Wicked Coatings are the official UK distributors of Honky's Soft Touch paint. This unique paint can transform almost any surface into a luxurious smooth finish, ideal for use on car interiors enhancing sleekness and durability. So if you want to personally customise any part of your vehicle, look no further."

"Soft Touch Coating that adheres to metal, plastic, glass and wood that gives a touch sensation which is similar to rubber with a matt appearance".

Chris, Body colour silver or piano black mate :thumb: if your not going full leather :thumb:

I have been thinking about what happens with accidental scuffing of something like piano black , So I think when mine is painted I am going to get if clear wrapped before it goes back in the car, that way it will have an extra layer of protection which can be redone at ant time if needed . any one see any negatives in that idea. :?:

Forgot my name already :floor:

I though Silver but then is it all a bit the same. B
Thoughts on seal grey?

Piano black is nice but my god it doesn't half show scratches as it's soooo shiney.
What about your body colour with a flash of your green that could work .

What a wally I am sorry Kev , It's Chris's thread. this is the very reason all my girlfriends/wives had the same name. :thumb:

Jim , I know a few have done it, I am not the type who wants to be precious about my car and that was my reasoning behind clear wrap as when its done to the externals of a car it can be polished etc no issues so my assumption was the same on the inside and it would just give a high gloss finish just a bit extra protection. :thumb:  just need to get a decent price on the group buy. :thumb:

Great response guys! I didn't think it would be so popular!
