Fuel additive... yay or nay?

So, got some STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner free with Evo mag subscription.

Does it do any good, or any reason why I shouldn't give it a go in my '04 X5 3 litre petrol?
 
Probably do no harm if they gave it away. Questionable if it does much good over and above the detergents and additives in modern fuel.
