Guys, can anyone give me some advice on a back to invoice Insurance policy? Or GAP Insurance, I've called 2 different brokers this morning, and because I purchased my 997.2 privately without a VAT invoice, they can only give me cover up to what Glassers guide is saying it's worth at today's value which is just over 33k.
We all know there isn't any Gen 2s with my spec plus Porsche warranty and mileage anywhere for sale for 33k!! Unless it's being sold by Normal Norman in the Exchange and Mart :(
I was hoping someone else has stumbled on a similar issue?

If it helps, I got my finance and GAP Insurance through these guys
https://www.motonovofinance.com

I bought privately through a broker (Phillip Raby) and had no issues getting GAP cover.

They have been good to deal with - no issues - and they got everything set up very quickly at the outset.

No affiliation etc etc...... just a satisfied customer

Might be worth giving them a ring :?:

Hello mate, I don't need any finance I've already purchased the car, it's the GAP I can't seem to get !!

I gathered that, but they can probably arrange just the GAP Insurance for you

I've just phoned them and they can only offer GAP if I'd have used them to finance the motor, cheers for your help mate

I'll keep searching :(

Ahhh..... sorry mate

:?

Surely the clue is in the title of the Insurance policy. :?:

If you buy a car privately what's to stop you saying that you paid £50k for the car?

Nothing, but the clue is also in my title!!

I bet you can't find a 997.2 with huge spec low miles and Porsche warranty for 33k which is the price in the Glassers Guide!!!

They will cover me but only at 33k not what the cars worth over 40K

Why don't you just get an agreed value Insurance policy. That way, you won't need gap cover, or am I missing something here?

I've got an agreed value policy, it's the GAP I was after in case of a total loss, i.e. Theft, accident etc

Effy. If you have an agreed value Insurance policy which I assume equals the price you paid, there will be no shortfall for the GAP to cover.

Okay that's put my mind at rest thanks guys

Might be worth 40k at a specialist dealer but assume you bought private to avoid the dealer mark up I assume ?

As far as I'm aware you won't get gap if brought privately.

Absolutely mate, plus it came with 19 months Porsche warranty that's was fully transferable to me, that's got value in it
