I think my seat belt warning system is faulty and I would be grateful if other 981 owners could tell me how theirs behaves please.
I have Isofix retro fitted, and the passenger airbag is switched on. There is no warning light or sound if the passenger seat is occupied and the seat belt left unfastened. If the drivers seat belt is left unfastened there is a warning light on the centre dial and message on the MFD but no audible warning when the car is driven (as I think there should be). The handbook states the warning light is lit if either seat belt is unfastened and that there is an audible bong when the car is driven over 15 mph, it goes on to say that if the passenger airbag is switched off then the warnings for the passenger seat are turned off - this makes sense as there would be a child seat sitting on the seat secured by isofix and the seat belt would be unfastened.
The OPC are saying that because I had Isofix retro fitted it's different to factory fitted isofix and the warnings that are not now working have to be disabled when the Isofix kit is fitted. I'm not convinced they are right - I understood having Isofix retro-fitted was the same as factory fitted.
Can anyone help with this please?
Thanks.
