The wheels need refurbishing (going to use Exel) but I am really stuck with what colour to go for. I want to add Cayman R decals to the sides of the car as well and sort of want it all to tie in. I'm really liking gold -but is it too blingy, chavvy, cheap, tacky etc? See pic - I love this colour combo. I know its not a Cayman, but you get the idea....

Please let me know what you think - and be honest!!

A dark gold might work, but perhaps you're better off with a bronze... :dont know:

Not shiny
But different
Just having some Carrera S wheels repainted by Chris at the moment so will do some before and after photos when they come back

I have been talking about gold wheels for ages, I think they would look brilliant - - - - GO FOR IT

Caveat - Not Subaru gold but a subtle colour, slightly darker f you get me, I have a nice picture somewhere will try and dig it out

I think the colour in your image is a little to gold / blingy,,,like something you might get in Dubai or something

Too much bling is what worries me, I thought about grey/gunmetal so it's a bit understated, but let's face it, it's a Porsche FFS, so does it matter? The side decals would also be gold, with the Porsche lettering in red, but the same red as the interior if I can find someone to do them. the decals on the side of the new 911R are two colour and look amazing.

Just got mine painted gold by Exel, I say do it!! 911s so ubiquitous IMO they can do with a bit of help.

They are a gold colour, but frosted not metallic. Having them made up by a sign writing firm and they are using opaque vinyl usually used on glass.

Might look sh*t but it's not too dear so I thought it's worth a go!
 
I have a friend who has red wheels on his white Cayman. Then had the R graphics made the word Porsche in red (rest of the graphic in black)

Looks very well
 
How about a more subtle gold like the 997 GT2 RS

Jesus, that looks stunning. I'm making the decision this week, it is going to either be gold or Platinum satin. Done a lot of research on getting the right Carrera red decals from the sides too, should all come together in the next month or so, of course I will post pics when its sorted. Cheers.

Is this the same coulor as above albeit on a Gen GT2? Does anyone know what the exact coulor is?
