i need to check which one I have but its always felt a little sluggish even when re charged and with new alternator

maybe not enough cranking and never great in the cold.

what do you run? sth like the Bosch S4 010 or Bosch S5-010 (85Ah and 800 CCA)

as its a daily and not worried about weight go for the biggest possible I guess? really wont make that much difference.

Bosch S5 is pretty good .

The original Porsche battery are Moll .. if it has a red ring around each cell then its the newer type and from what i hear is far better than the old one .. the original non red top tended to die when you so much as looked at them .

Don't forget on a 997 you have the starter lead that can cause slow crank speeds and also the usual starter motor being tired .

I had a slow crank issue and had a new battery, lead’s, alternator and then, finally, a new starter. It was the last that fixed it. Clue was the cranking was worse when warm.

Good luck

Picked up the exact same battery over the weekend too. Btw OP there are 2 variants of the s5 096 and 110 make sure you go for the 110 it has a higher cca.
